I love this, and I don't know why it doesn't have more upvotes. I love, love, love that iktaar sounding instrumental in the background (the exotic sounding strings). The piano is also done well. My only problem, which seems to be already pointed out by the previous reviewer, is that reverb or whatever it is on your drums. Your drums sound really sqaushed and kind of like they're coming out of a blown speaker. Pleaseeee fix that so your drums sound fuller, bassier, and more open. The rest of it is great. Although the below reviewer is also right about the compression. What software was this made in? If it's ableton there's a "normalize" option to make all your levels sound more open and less limited. But I have a feeling this is fruity loops, so I don't know what to tell you...
Overall melody and mood is great, just open up the mix and get rid of the compression, sounds too squashed :C
Thank you so much for the positive review.
Yes I am working on mastering my tracks now. When this song is finished it'll sound much better.
Again thank you for the review! The more feedback I can get the better. I love knowing I'm not making music just for myself. :D
Love your musical ideas, and the atmosphere you're creating with this piece!
It sounds like it's getting over compressed. This might be because you have a limiter on the master channel and have your levels too high on the individual tracks, or it might be intentional. I would mess with the settings on your compression to try to get a more open sounding mix.
You also seem to have reverb on your kick, at least at the beginning. This is a personal choice, but I would normally advise against it. If you do have reverb, make sure it is not so powerful that it starts getting compressed by your limiter (same issue as above).
Altogether, really cool sounds, and nice work!
Yay someone likes my ideas! Yeah I really want to create a moving atmosphere.
Alright thank you. Will try my best to fix this. I had a reverb in the kick for a more dramatic effect, but I will try to tone it down.
Thank you very much! Love getting any feedback I can.
