I have a lot of nostalgia for this piece. It was my first ever composition using a computer and a last ditch effort to pass the tech unit of my music course three years ago. It was composed in Reason 4 on the last day before the deadline.

I got a distinction.

There are a lot of problems with this piece, but I love it all the same. I think the speech at the end is from a video called "Offended." I thought it would be funny at the time.

Even though it's an oldie, constructive feedback is still welcome.

So at the very beginning I was hoping for something a bit different. You started with this really neat chromatic bit in twos. But then after you finished the second one you just went back to the first bit and kept doing it. This didn't excite me as much. I would consider going somewhere else with that chord progression before returning to it and moving onto the song. Make the intro something more interesting and less 'this is what this is going to sound like for pretty much the entire time.'

All the bits after that were really nice and very enjoyable. It had an almost folky medieval sound to me. Something more characteristic of renaissance or late medieval, with bits of modernistic melodic lines and chord use. It's a very cool piece of music.

Once you stepped away from the core chord progression you did a lot of extremely interesting stuff. I liked it. I have nothing to say against it. I enjoyed my listen.

ScrabbitTheRabbit responds:

I agree. It sounds like the piece is going to go to a more interesting place but then it's like "nope, I'm just gonna play the chords."

The song is beautiful and really gets your imagination going to try and picture the music into a scene. It makes me think of some kind of a journey though a forgotten wasteland, searching for something out there.

ScrabbitTheRabbit responds:

I quite like that image. I remember trying to make a game a couple of years ago with this as the main theme. It was set in a Feudal Japan influenced fantasy world where you played as the equivalent to a Ronin, trying to help a dying, impoverished community get back on it's feet through various good deeds and a little bit of bandit killin'. Unfortunately, it was a little bit too ambitious for me to create on my own :[

This place sounds wonderful. It sounds like it belongs in a game. I love the volin in there... its one my favorite instruments next to brass and piano. I can barely hear the speech at the end so you don't need to worry much about that. lol this is way better than my first piece on my computer. Great Job!

ScrabbitTheRabbit responds:

Thanks for the review :] I take it from your comments you're a musician, too? If so, you should upload some stuff, I'd love to hear it.

I Found the next final fantasy

ScrabbitTheRabbit responds:

The Final Fantasy soundtracks are what inspired me to become a musician, so your comment is much appreciated!
