Was really just me in a quick-mix session, trying to work on my cut and go skills.

I can't give too much production tips, because I'm pretty much strictly a rapper. I like your beat though. I think you did well, especially taking into consideration that this was just a quick mix for you. Keep it up man, I'll definitely check out your future stuff!

bpleez responds:

hey homie i appreciate the hell out of your review. thanks dude, yea i did it really quick to see where i was at as far as sampling/cut/scratching goes.

I think I have to agree with most of what Vlash has already said. One thing I would like to say, is that sometimes a track sounds better unmixed, gives it a little bit more of an old school, gritty feel. I think this is one of those tracks that benefits from being unmixed, although I would be interested in hearing it after you mix it, and see the differences. Good work dude. Very catchy tune indeed.

thanks dude i hella appreciate your review!

Solid beat here, B. I know it's unmixed and all, and this was just a quick track meant for practice, so I don't wanna go and give too many suggestions or anything.

But, that said, I thought the first half of the beat was nice; that vocal sample was pretty catchy and it sounds easy to rap to. However, I was't really feeling the second half of the track; it wasn't bad or anything, but I feel like the energy got brought down, if you get what I'm saying. It'd have been cool if it kept the same energy it had throughout the first half.

Other than that, it was a solid track. I'm listening to cheap headphones, so I can't really critique the mixing (and it's unmixed, anyways, so it'd be silly to judge that, anyways). Again, sounds easy enough to rap to, sounds decent just as an instrumental, too. Good work!

bpleez responds:

thanks i totally understand that. only added in the slow vocal mix at the end just so people would know what i mixed, but it does bring down the track definitely.
