This song is the forest theme for the indy action-RPG Alcarys Complex. Inspired by classic aRPGs like Secret of Mana, Alcarys Complex sought to break established tropes in the genre and reinvent the RPG gaming experience. The game has a heavy focus on narrative and socialization instead of combat, while its graphics and feel stay true to its 16-bit roots.

The game's creators chose to make their soundtrack entirely folk music, because that genre is virtually nonexistent in game soundtracks. So, this song uses delicate, folky instrumentation to describe the beautiful forested valleys of the game world. It is meant to sound truly euphoric, as though the listener is being spirited away into a fantasy world full of wonder and beauty. It features live guitar, recorder, mandolin, and harmonica. The few synth instruments that are present are from various East/West libraries. This song is also an homage to the classic Secret of Mana track, "The Boy Aims for Wild Fields." This reminds me of an old PS2 favorite: Dark cloud :)

Really mystically calming piece.

The guitar sounds clean as if it was recorded live. This was also probably my favorite part of the song to listen to. Aside from Secret of Mana, also reminds me of Dark Cloud a bit.

The harp sounds mellow. Also seems to remind me of a game taking place in middle ages yet with a steampunk feel to it. The harmonica was very pleasant to listen to and reminded me of some movies.

The rising vocals really make me think of Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger. They have a hopeful feel to them. Then the rising cresendo for a few piano notes was pleasant. The secondary soft guitar heard was good.

Lastly, the drums were enjoyable to listen to.

Overall, very pleasant and wonderful song to listen to.
