Good work! However, I feel the cello and the sound effects were unnecessary, I feel that if you improve on the melody (Great melody) and focus on the rhythms and add more intensity to the song it would be even better!

Well the song started with the intro, and the sound effects were just unique and gave it that 8bit feeling, though I do respect your opinion greatly. I may make a more "synth-worthy" version of as well, just to see how it sounds. :)
