Not nearly as good as I wanted it to be, my limited experience in the orchestral scene really shot me in the foot in this round.

This is supposed to be reminiscent of the Godfather series, though I hardly give it it's due respect.

SWEET CHORDS

Your chord progressions and melodies all work together in such a lovely fashion, and the orchestra backing it all really brings it all out. The boxy strings really don't bother me since everything is so well put together.

The piano at the end is so beautiful, and ties it all together, but the windchime seems mildly random without a few more instruments or a fuller chord to help it resolve.

AWESOME TRACK <:

NGADM 3 and stuff.

Sounds pretty awesome, great use of instruments, some techniques that you don't often hear, such as the tremelo picking on the guitar (I know there's another term for that style, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is). And the theme of this I thought was pretty unique, despite it's reminiscence to the GodFather series.

Only complaint I have really is that the chording sounded kind of redundant and the overall song was lacking... something... I have no idea what... I want to say direction, but that doesn't seem right. There's something missing, but I'm not sure how to describe what the something is. Could be the absence of a more active underlay, as the chords do get a little redundant.

Overall though, sounds pretty awesome, regardless of the somewhat redundant backing. 8/10.

I love the melody presented by the piano and how the orchestra expands upon it.
This has a wonderful emotional feel to it and I can see this being used in a
period drama. The full orchestra coming in to back up the piano melody though,
that took my breath away.

Here's your round 3 review! It'll be a bit harsher than your previous reviews once more. Harsher the closer to the end we get!

The Good:
-Composition is sweet as usual. I liked the little realism bits you put in like changing the velocity and timing of notes.
-This has a lovely rising and falling action throughout, you definitely know what you're doing.
-Chord progression is sweeeeeeeeeet.
-I can hear everything fine, the mixing seems good to me.

The Not-So-Good:
-I don't like the little chord change at about 1:02, but that's pretty nitpicky.
-Unfortunately, what killed you is the instrument quality. There's really not much of anything I can say about this other than, try downloading BAB's giant library of soundfonts, because they're VERY good for being soundfonts.

Overall: Man, this was a change of pace from listening to MSB's dubstep house thing. I have to say, I liked it quite a bit. This'll get a 7/10 from me mainly because of the composition.

This submission definitely has some of the best melody work of any round, and it's backed up with chords that have a fantastic voicing and timing as well. The vibe of the piano melody and way the chords follow it remind me of Vivaldi (for lack of a better reference), and the er, 'bassline', reminds me of church psalms and organ interludes. I'm loving the rubato style of the entire instrumentation, and the playing style of the mandolin combined with the clicky double bass gives it a real organic feel. And why yes you did manage to bring forth the Godfather mood, since you're asking.

The composition is pretty decent here, you have one very strong theme that you reiterate throughout the song with varying intensity and style, and for a relatively short theme-ish track like this one I'd consider that okay. The instruments aren't pristine (especially the strings sound rather boxy) but the instrumentation definitely is. You're using a relatively large part of the orchestra to great effect.

Overall: loved it to bits!
