Final full remastered version of my "protecting my devotion" song from 2009.

I had a version that imo sounds better at 450 kbps but it was 20 megs and past the file size limit.. the link to it is here:

http://www.newgrounds.com /dump/item/68b88f69894a3a dd3d1200961f992434 (remove any spaces the site puts in the link)

so yes.. the original version I had originally made on my laptop without any speakers.. thus there was originally too much bass.. so originally I stripped it out and submitted ff9 protecting my devotion parts 1 and 2 - I think I might have also mastered both parts differently. in any case many complained about the lack of bass and the lack of it being one song.

Wel now that the file limit is higher I can now upload this - took a stab at it today, remastered the original "too bassy" mp3 file into something I am more or less content with.. after hours of listening it's hard to tell if it really sounds good anymore or if your mind is just telling you it does haha..

in any case if has bass now.. so you can crank that shit up if you want to :P

so let's recap - it's been over a year now - chronamut no longer submits here, but he is uploading stuff other places, new remasters mixes etc- you can hear chronamut music now in 2 places:

1) Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/chronamut

2) Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/chronamut?sub_confirmation=1

continuing the experience..

Hey man!
Sorry for this well overdue review (better late than never, right?) Haven't been on newgrounds in ages >_<

I don't really remember much of FF9, so this feels fresh and new to me. It's a bit long winded for my taste, but nice work on the arrangement throughout.

I like that extra delayed choir pad you added in at around 4:09! Gives it a nice uneasy feeling to the buildup.... and that ending piano ballad section that starts around 7:58 just gets me every time (I'm a real sucker for those power ballad sounding piano sections hahaha)

Also, love the "airy-ness" in the entire mix. Really adds to the feel of the song (especially during the piano/ballad parts)

Chronamut responds:

lol yes well overdue :P

glad you liked the song man!

thanks for the review!

A very lovely piece, this song always gets to me. Great rendition, I feel like you did it justice. I wish you uploaded audio more often! I'm glad you're exploring your other artistic avenues though. Also if you haven't check out Erutan's rendition with vocals it's gorgeous. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNHtbw 4Kyf0
