Well, this is my official Round 1 entry for the NGADM. I don't have much to say about it, since I started on it about 2 days ago.

It follows the formula of some of my older songs, piling chopped drum breaks on top of strings. I hope you enjoy.

OK? i was thinking of heavy metal but... I like this too its OK i guess :I

sounded like i was in a movie lol

This had a very march-like quality to me, and it conveys a sense of giant bewitched wind-up toys marching in a bizarre parade as part of a childish nightmare.

One of my favorites of Round 1...

I can't say enough good things about this track, everything about it just felt right to me. It was unique, it sounded good, and it progressed like I'd imagine it would. The running beat over the more or less calming backing was a nice contrast, and somehow felt totally natural. And when the song kicks into gear at around 3:12, it just... made me happy, in every way. That sliding bass was fantastic, the short pauses in the action really helped push out a somewhat "systematic chaos" type feel, like everything's going wrong, yet so right.
Really, there was very little about this track I didn't like.

Honestly, the biggest thing that bugged me is that I think it took a little too long getting into the action, so to speak. The intro sections are nice, don't get me wrong, but I think they could've been shorted slightly to help push the song along a little bit faster.

Overall, fantastic track, unique, driving, and a real pleasure to listen to. 8.5/10.

One of the more upbeat and fleshed out songs in this round, the combination of orchestral and jungly elements is a classic and it works great here. I love the flowing harmonies of those sustained strings and how you gradually built up thicker and thicker chords then supplemented them with percussion that also increases in intensity. It's a pretty good intro overall, but it could definitely be expanded upon with some soundscapes and other sorts of ear candy.

The period of low intensity and high tension after 1:32 is pretty great, but that also creates the expectation of a really kickass main part, and when you do that trick THRICE (2:19 and 3:06 as well) without launching into a real takeoff, the whole song ends up getting a bit long. It kicks off nicely enough with the airplane-ish rising synths, slidey bassline and amen break, but after three minutes it's just a bit too little too late so to speak. That part also ends a bit early without having been developed very much.

Sound-wise... pretty good! Good deep drums, slightly above average sounding orchestral elements and decent synths, with really solid production and mostly great mixing. Each part flows effortlessly into the next, making for a really easy and enjoyable listen. Keep up that work man.

8 points for sounds and instrumentation.
7 points for composition and melody/harmony.
8 points for theme/originality/other things that might impress

Overall impression: 8.0
