UPDATED 08-12-2012: louder distorted guitars, more even guitars overall...

poppy, grungy, quirky... a weird little workout of a song about an ordinary occurrence, i guess... or used to be, anyway :) <3
you can maybe hear why this is Take 1 of the song, or the demo version - the guitars are a little undercut and too fuzzy for their own good, and this take of the lyrics differs a little from what's below, because for some reason i just sang different things. i also forgot i even recorded these vocals... somehow. what can i say? i was distracted. life got in the way. enjoy \m/ [+G]

she comes out the aisle with her hands full
too short to look over the tops
she looks wired for a Sunday at midnight
winter break has been down in the dumps
and this snow sucks

she says something to some girl who's with her
who may as well not even exist
for this angel's an ocean to swim in
her skin's a warm country to found
but she rolls her eyes

and I feel naked / yeah like an alien
hmm, all naked / yeah and frostbitten
I'm imagining you naked

her douchebag boyfriend, is probably safe at home
she probably loves him, and he's probably comfortable
he'd see right thru me

so what if I want to possess you
make you mine for the rest of our lives
you call it fantasy, oh no, oh no, it's not
not a fucking chance for romance

and I feel naked / yeah like an alien
hmm, all naked / yeah and frostbitten
I'm imagining you naked

I'm all naked / a-yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Hmm, all naked / and rejected
I'm imagining you naked

Good song, it's a shame it hasn't gotten more attention.

Gunshy responds:

Great work as usual Ross! I really like that intro riff, it's a great hook! it really pulls you in! I like the direction you took here, it's a little more poppy, but at the same time, not. If that makes sense. Keep it up man!

Gunshy responds:

thanks for supporting for the poppyness :) i tried to be equal parts pop and those weird offbeat, discordant hooks we love grunge for having.

Pretty cool melody, crazy grungy lead lines, reminiscent lyrics.
Definitely a poppier sound, in comparison to 'yer other stuff up here, still diggin' it though.
I hear what you mean about the guitar, maybe up the volume a little-- The fuzz gives a nice edge to the melody though, in my opinion. Beside that it's sounding good, man. Keep on rockin'.

Gunshy responds:

UPDATED - louder, fuzzier, but more defined, i think, thanks to some chorus and EQ work on the guitar during the 1st chorus and beyond - thanks for the critique! :))
