A preview of an upcoming semi-concept album I've begun working on, tentatively titled A Matter of Matter, or The State of Matter. This is heavily, albeit subconsciously inspired by Alice, by Pogo. Still need to figure out where to go with this, though. I can't make an album of two-minute songs. Who do I think I am, Mindless Self Indulgence? BA-ZING. I really like this so far, though. I've been making so much downtempo music lately. Maybe breakcore wasn't what I was meant to do after all?
Anyway, here's hoping some of you will enjoy. My first submission to NG in ages. Just a WIP, there's some kinks I need to work out and the song really needs a direction, but it's something.
You could definitely make an album of two-minute songs, punk rockers do it all the time and nobody gives a damn. So long as there's flow, there's a call for such song lengths.
I really liked it. Had a nice chill vibe, that was artfully noisy in the right places. There's a nice layer of tension you developed in the song, keep tapping into that.
I will certainly try my best. I know that Smash Mouth did it with their debut album, but I don't have to be Smash Mouth. I can be myself, you know? :P I'm glad that you really liked it, though. I just don't know where to go with the song. That's my problem. But if you liked it, then that means that I'm on the right track! So thank you!
