Once I really got started on this one it didn't too long to do. It was just that I kept having to stop, because I didn't know what direction I wanted to take the song in. I ended up taking a mystical kind of direction with it.

I absolutely had to use my baglama saz for that part where they used the santur/dulcimer synth in the original. I had it tuned to F#-f#-D-D-A-a-a.

I hope you all enjoy this. It was hard work and a good bit of fun, with some difficult keyboard passages. It's not 'perfect', but I am satisfied with the result.

EDIT2013: Yo! Updated version finally up! It's been done since '12, but I just now uploaded it. MP3 quality is lame, folks.

This was definitely an interesting song, kinda weird, but still good. My biggest complaint is that it's a bit cluttered, try cleaning up the mix a bit.

SoulSecure responds:

I don't think it's 'cluttered', I think it's 'full'. Even if I pull many frequencies at this point it'll sound hollow and shitty. I mean, there's no clipping, nothing sounds totally alienated and the bass isn't overwhelming, so I prefer to stay where I'm at on this, unless you could give more precise advice.

Besides, I tried to copy the panning of the instruments from the original song and I'm not much willing to go anywhere on that.

Thanks for the review, man!

I disagree with Haggard just a little. I found the 'water fall' ("ringing sound") sound in the background to be acceptable as a sort of base rhythm upon which all else is added to. I can see why it might be a polarizing choice, though. You either zen into it or it drives you mad.

The end product was, again, similar enough to be recognizable without being so similar that it got boring. It felt fresh.

SoulSecure responds:

Wait, so y'all mean the wooden sounding bit that starts the song off? That's too loud in the version up right now. I fixed the mix on this song a good while back. I'll have to update this one.

This sounds very strange and random, yet so damn cool at the same time. I really like the saz here, it fits into this song absolutely perfectly.

The drums are very nice as well. Very nice bassy sound. Together with the other instruments the drums create a very "Egypt" like atmosphere, which I really enjoyed.

The only thing you should think about changing is that "ringing sound" in the background. We can hear it when the track starts and almost throughout the entire song. It gets really annoying after a while.

SoulSecure responds:

You must mean the delay on the bell synth. Originally, that part is only six notes each measure, I already got rid of the delay in an updated version. You should go listen to the original water temple theme from the game Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
