NOTE: Listen to this with good quality stereo headphones for the best effect.
So I wanted to make a song that didn't have much in the way of repetitive measures, shying away from normal things like verse and chorus, in order to have a song that almost constantly feels fresh. One that evolves.
The first two initial measures popped into my head while playing Retro Defense on my Android phone for whatever reason. In order to approach the evolution concept, I started tweaking every two measures, both minor and major changes to the song progression.
Then I imagined a concept of chaos and order in escalating conflict and it manifested throughout the song. The synth lead riff you hear after every few measures symbolizes chaos causing a change in the progression, however major or minor the change is. The piano symbolizes order in the song and she gradually makes her way into the mix. Before long she ends up in a major battle with chaos who had been really running things until then. The true winner of said battle is a matter of the listener's perspective ;)
Oh and if you were a gamer during the 90's, there's something you may recognize towards the end ;)
