The hats are still bugging me. The beatbox was seriously crushed by the compressor, so the only way I'd be able to fix the hats' volume is by editing the wavefile itself, post-process. Sometime later, I'll fix that.

Some lyrics I had for it but didn't know what to do with them:
Charlie, thought outside the box
He did drugs, skipped school,
Listened to a lot of rock.
He met Brian at the academy,
Brian seemed cool.
Charlie picked up his guitar,
Played him a couple of tunes

Charlie, wrote songs like Brian
But they didn't have the harmonies
Just an E7 sharp 9.
Charlie couldn't get into Brian's band
Charlie wasn't good enough
Or in Charlie's words,
I was too cool for those chumps

Charlie, set out for San Francisco, to
Make a band bigger than Brian's,
Hoard the hippies' dough
He met a chef with a large
Collection of knives
He bought them all, saying:
These will make great guitar slides

Charlie, met some girls backstage
Their ribs, stuck out a bit
And they thought they were overweight
Charlie said no, no, follow me
Took them into his Volkswagon
Through the power of Jesus,
They did some Satanic shit

Charlie, thought outside the box
Two pregnant women, aren't quite
A pair of dirty socks
But they still followed him
Tuggin' at his feet
Charlie picked up his guitar,
Sung them to sleep (brainwash, brainwash)

Charlie, smoked weed in the van
While the ladies did the legwork
Spreading his name through the land
It wasn't his band, per se
Different kind of music
But it circulated faster
Than Brian's music ever did

Charlie, thinks outside the box
Since he's in prison, he might as well
Pretend that he's not.
Healthy, but a lost cause
Charlie, you lost your mind
But your're not alone,
Brian's not far behind.

I'm not to fond of the beats and stuff, but dude, those lyrics are golden! It's such an amazing story and all! You gotta sue those lyrics someway or someday!!!!

Wow - perhaps? Thanks for the review!

Abstract. stylish. somewhat funky.

The guitar is quite nice and the distorted synth mix better than one would think. The drums are great because they are coming from your face, but really they also fit and have some nice "meat" to them. I enjoyed it.

Wow, thanks. This was finished about 10 months ago, so I was concerned that the guitar track I recorded was old and too rough, but I kept it anyway. In the future I think I'll add a melody - the synth, to me, doesn't quite fulfill that function, and it's absent during the bridge anyway. The beatbox sounds good to me. I like the snares about it the most. The kick feels kinda boxy, and the hats stick out a bit much, but I think it's adequate. Thanks for the review! I'm glad you're enjoying my music.

First! This rocks out with the same kind of very musical alternative structure that I have come to love from you.

Thanks! Listening to it now, I'm kinda bugged there's no melody to it. I might add one later. It sounds kinda boring. I mean, there's that weird wee-ooh thing, but the B section's got no melody. The sound quality of the beatbox is pretty suspect to me, but I like it a lot because of how the snare in it sounds. It has this perfect crunch quality to it. Anyway, thanks for listening!
