Electronic - Drum N Bass

Author Comments

Hey, this song is the sequel to Blue 15.

This is my tribute to the Euro 12, as this has been inspired by the Euro Cup and a part of the rhythem is remixed from a UEFA game. =)

Ah yes, if you heard my old loop Lost Relation then this should be extremely fimiliar, but faster and better.

Made with FL 10.

EDIT: genre changed to Drum and Bass.

Very nice.

You have a really good beat here, it starts out strong and bold, and stays that way you then mix in a few variations and that really picks it up very well, so there was alot of variaty in this, i was really pleased with this whole piece so im not sure i can offer any improvments that would do it justice, its pretty solid of a tune, but anyways keep up the decent work i look forward to more from you soon.

The strong and deep sounds really gets this going so i would capitilize on that especially at the ending.

Okay. So - I didn't vote for this in the NGADM. Here's why.

-You have a nice amount of variation, which is really good, I like that.
-The instruments blend quite well, and I like your use of fading layers in and out.

-Okay, this is the major thing and probably what killed it almost instantly. This song (and most of your music) is a default FLS instrument/preset-fest. What you *desperately* need to do is get better samples. Here are two very, very good starting points for free instruments that are better than the FLS defaults and will probably help you a lot: 200140
-The overall feel of the song never changes much, which is mainly a result of the next issue.
-Mixing. This track is just *way* too loud overall, and there are plenty of mixing issues. The waveform of this track is just. Holy crap. Now, you have several options here. One is to compress your instruments, which would make them quieter and keep them from clipping. The other is what I would recommend - turn that volume DOWN! Perhaps not a ton, but some, at the very least. It would also be good to get more equalizers on the song so that the instruments don't interfere with each other. If you listen around 2:30-2:50, the white noise has a lot of wobbling in it caused by other instruments. Remember - the instruments' frequencies shouldn't bother each other.
-After 3:44, there's WAY too much of that hit, which makes a ton of bass frequencies - that upsets the mixing there as well.

Overall: It's cool. And you're getting better at composition. But you REALLY need better samples and to work on your mixing. That killed the track almost immediately for me, at the very least.

Hope this is helpful!

Thanks a lot for all the critisism.

I knew something was going to be said about the mixing, but I never knew that using the default plugins would ruin it. I'll check out those websites.

This song sounds rather wonderful to hear. Has a slight dance feel to it thanks to reverb and once the full beat kicks in it just sounds even better. Very enjoyable beat!!

The bass is simple and helps to make the song sound good in all. The synth has an echo effect to each note which makes me think the notes are spread out a little bit so the echo won't effect the next note.

The drums sound incredible and I really enjoy the beat they produce! The constant mixture of kicks and snares trading off and mixing is such a nice sound. The hi hats are also good.

The rumbling back beat I hear when just the piano and magical sound happen gives a lot of atmosphere as if getting ready for a boss battle.

Overall, incredibly well done piece!!

"Video Game" is a bit of a vague genre of this piece - I think that you'd have been better off with Drum & Bass, or something along similar lines to get this piece published to.

A very powerful, if fast paced piano, interspersed with other instruments and one hellish bass beat, which rams home the track in its entirety. Given that this piece is over 4 minutes long, you've managed to fit a hell of a lot of music into those 4 minutes, with the bpm through the roof and the various piece that you've woven into the mix here.

I think that some sort of higher pitched and even a slower tempo solo on the piano would be a nice change, somewhere in the middle. It gives people a chance to catch their breath, before the bass comes back in and kicks the walls down once more. Something to think about.

Chrausner responds: that I think of it, this doesn't include many Video-Game elements, and includes more Drum & Bass. Tnx for the heads-up.

I'll have to work on tempo, it appears. Pitch and tempo change were the harest things for me to do.

Thanks for the review.

I didn't enjoy this piece as much as I felt that I should've. I wanted to leave a review about how this piece could've been one of the better ones that I have heard on Newgrounds thus-so-far, but I can't bring myself to do that. The reasons for this are probably the overuse of electronica-type "Video Game" genre music in today's generation. I have heard so many times over and over the bass beat go from a simple quarter beat to a sixteenth-note full attack on the soundtrack.

Other than that, it's actually very well-done. Like I said, I don't really enjoy the overused electronic sounds and I didn't really like the sped up bass beat. I would've brought myself to say more about this song, but for some reason, I can't really bring myself to do it. I think it may because I like going into detail about my reviews, but this song never really required much detail in the first place. The only good thing for me that kept this kind of alive is the melody put out throughout the piece.

Well yeah, I'm more into the modern video-game style rather than the past classics. Not everyone has the same taste. =\

Tnx for the review anyways.
