~SW~ Dreamland Chronicles

Here's a song I made for the Dreamland Chronicles webcomic, found here: http://www.thedreamlandch ronicles.com/

The full title of this track is "Dreamland Chronicles - Evermore", but that wouldn't fit, so I left it at "Dreamland Chronicles". No copyright infringement is intended by having the name on here simply be "Dreamland Chronicles". The full name simply does not fit.

If you'd like to download this in higher quality than what it is here, please use this link: http://adf.ly/9Kxkw This also supports my music-making, so I'd appreciate it if you could at least click it anyway - even if you don't want to download it. ;)

If you'd like to buy the song, feel free to head over to my bandcamp here: http://swint.bandcamp.com /track/dreamland-chronicl es-evermore

The programs used to make this song were FL Studio and Reason.

The VSTi and instruments used were Morphine (Purchased), EDIROL Orchestral (Purchased), Sytrus (FL Studio), BooBass (FL Studio), DSK OranZe (Free download), the Studio FG460s II Pro Guitar Pack (Free Soundfont in the Fruity Soundfont Player), and a large amount of instruments from the Reason defaults, as well as drums and percussion in Kong.

The VST used were Fruity Reeverb (FL Studio), Fruity Delay 2 (FL Studio), Fruity Phaser (FL Studio), Fruity Parametric EQ 2 (FL Studio), Fruity Reeverb 2 (FL Studio), Fruity Flanger (FL Studio), Fruity Flangus (FL Studio), Fruity PanOMatic (FL Studio), Guitar Rig 5 (Purchased), Fruity Delay Bank (FL Studio), and the Fruity Stereo Enhancer (FL Studio).

The time used to make this song was about 1 month. :D

Any feedback I could get on this song would be wonderful, I always love feedback and constructive criticism, as long as it actually IS constructive.

~Enjoy!

Very hippie music! Cool-dang bara-bang. It gets to medieval eras to hippie times and Kniving horseVSdragon vibes and i like it thank you ALALALALALONG ALI LONG LONG LONG (its a hippie music's lyrics song that this remembers me) .

SkyeWint responds:

Heck yeah!

What a blast from the past, made this for an old webcomic as mentioned in the description of it. This was so much fun to make.

I love all of your music!
It's awesome and fantastic! :)

Your music takes me through journeys and adventures in my mind.
It makes me happy and full of joy.
The best feeling I will always have.

SkyeWint responds:

Hi! :D

I'm glad you like it! I like bringing people through a journey, showing them worlds through music, causing emotions. I hope I can keep up that standard so you'll keep having that feeling. :)

Your song starts out great, the delay and instruments you use are very dreamy and gets us on the right mood and completely caught by the song, as the song progresses it amazes me how you are able to add so much different things to the mix and keep each one of them flawlessly clear.
At 2:05 starts maybe the part of the song i like the least, although you made an incredible part on the brass or flute not sure which one is it, i feel that the percussion is a bit too much "in your face" style and i also dont like the background sound that sounds like a phased pad or something.
At 2:37 the songs totally gets my attention once again, it gets darker all of the sudden without me even noticing you making the change and i personally think the chimes work as a chilling element that elevates the spookiness of that part even further.
At 4:00 the song returns to the dreamy style that i love, and you nailed those guitar effects perfectly they send a strong dreamy feeling. Whenever the bass enters the song it is amazing, my congrats to that too.
So with that being said you obviously gained my respect and a new fan, your work is amazing!
Keep it going SkyeWintrest!

This tune starts off reminding me of something from one of the Metroid Prime games and transforms into something more along the lines of a song out of the RPG games of the last gen consoles. I can see myself relaxing for hours with this in the background. I love it, keep at making music!

SkyeWint responds:

Wish granted. :D I'm working on another song someone requested right now!

I agree with others. Definitely can feel the time spent, and it brought back good memories. Thoughts of zelda, chrono trigger, some very great scenes in some novels, even some movies. I put this on loop and set it as background music and it fit very well to that also. I wish I had suggestions to improve this work bc striving for perfection is great, but i'm at a loss for anything but the word perfect. Balanced, steady with peak and fall. It has elements of musical artistry in that, you understand the concept of emotional conveyance via flat vs sharp. And if you don't, you have a talent and should familiarize yourself lol

Simply put, rarely do i take the time to write this much on music unless it is worth the thoughts, and this was certainly worth the time and thought.

Well done

SkyeWint responds:

Good morning! (or afternoon or evening or night or whatever it is at your time)

"Definitely can feel the time spent"
Yay! :D

"I put this on loop and set it as background music and it fit very well to that also."
Yeah, I like making background music. Though, I also like making it complex and deep enough that if you listen to it and focus solely on the music, there's a ton of stuff in there that you can get lost. Of course, complexity isn't ALWAYS good, but...

"I wish I had suggestions to improve this work bc striving for perfection is great, but i'm at a loss for anything but the word perfect."
I'm glad that you understand that, and glad that you wanted to help make it better... and I am definitely flattered that you thought this song was perfect. ^_^

"you understand the concept of emotional conveyance via flat vs sharp"
Yeah, I think I do. :P I often shift between them, I like that kind of atmosphere.

"this was certainly worth the time and thought."
Hooray!
