Necromancer's Return

This is my entry for RealFaction's "necromancer theme" (a.k.a. Simple Sight) remix contest. I found it extremely difficult to master this, and I'm still not 100% pleased with the result, but I'm glad with the way the composition itself turned out. Instead of making it sound like video game battle music, I decided to give it a sort of 'story telling' feel to it instead. Of course, how that story goes, is for you to decide =)

As some of you may know, the original was also used in the game Castle Crashers, so be sure to check that out if you haven't already!

Misc. info:
Software used: Cubase 5
Tempo in bpm: 180
Time signature: 4/4
Key signatures: A# minor, C# minor

Hope you guys like it! As always, feedback is much appreciated ;)

Woo, featured! Thanks for listening you guys =)

Absolutely perfect, the title matches the song perfectly.
Good job lad :)

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thanks! ^^ Glad you like the song =)

Excellent. I personally found that the remix went perfect with the original song, which not many people can do quite as well as you did here. Bravo, good sir!
And it felt like it was progressing into a story of epic proportions!
(Note, Your the first person to get a full score like that from me. I'm very hard to impress. Well done!)

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thank you very much! That was exactly what I was trying to achieve, so I'm glad you liked it that much =) Too bad I'm not good at animating, otherwise I would've actually created a flash-movie to go with it, but oh well... I guess our imagination is a great story teller as well ^^

Thanks for the review!

I actually like how you used orchestrial instruments. It's always refreshing to listen to video game music when it's orchestrated, especially if it still sounds epic. Organ made my day. And the strings seemed just right as well. And it sounds suitable for video game battle music to me, but, eh. Good job nonetheless.

EagleGuard responds:

Haha, thank you! Took me ages before the organ sounded 'ok' in the mix, mainly because of the wide range of frequencies it uses. Not sure if it would fit in an actual game, but I'm glad you think so nonetheless. Thanks for the review =)

first 10 secs... ALREADY EEN LUV!

-Drakon The Rare CLARINET PLAYING Dragon Hybrid!

EagleGuard responds:

Hehe, glad I could bring you two together!

This was amazing, not only did the tone change at just the right parts, the very first part contrasting with the "chorus" of sorts made this song kick ass

EagleGuard responds:

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I enjoy writing music that has a certain 'story' to tell, so that's why I decided to go with a bit more contrast than one would usually expect from video game music :)
