Dat bass! :D
I really liked the subbass, it gave it a really funky groove! :D
The pluckish synth at 0:44 sounds nice, I like it.
I do think the midbass/slide bass sounds a little saw-like. It makes it sound a bit too farty, I don't know how I'm supposed to describe it elseway, sorry for that :P
I like the change of progressions, always good to pay attention to that!
One last thing, the vocal slices totally rocked!
Great work man, 5/5, keep dat shit up! :D:D
I love fart bass, personally ^^. Something about that pure saw portamento... it's a pretty distinct sound, to say the least (easy to create, as well). I really do appreciate your reviews, though! Thanks!
Hey Hey Now!
Intro is fantastic, really love the way the beat and bassline come in.
I'm not sure if I'm a fan of the breakbeat choice, the intro seemed to lead into like a huge bumping club track.
1.31 The breakdown is really nice with that melody and the hi-pitch.
2.00 Development is ambitious, but it seems to drag on a bit until
2.29 The beat is back !
I think 2.40 should have hit rite away at 2.30
Breakdown at 3.15 is hella cool!
Also really love the vocals throughout the track.
OK, so to summarize, your sounds are really really good, especially that beginning bassline, but I think the structure can be really worked on to provide more OOMPH. Personally when I think of a "nightlight time to PARTY!?!?!?!" I expect something along the lines of a kick and bass that really eats through you, without those breakbeats. I can't really imagine a club full of people trying to sync with beats like those.
I also think you need a more significant melody. A lot of your melodic elements I think can be used also for atmospheric sounds, and apart from 3.30 buildup, I think it needs a more fundamental and noticeable melody, for sure.
A great job overall, a 4.5 from me! Just slightly off from perfect!
Drop me a review if you want!
Thanks for the review!
I suppose the breakbeats break the character of the piece a little bit, but I just get bored with 4-on-the-floor, and breakbeats are a little more interesting.
im totally gonna play this song when i have a party! :)
love tha beat so much!
Not bad! Lovin the beat, the tune isn't bad either. The only thing I don't like about it is that there are a million other songs like it on newgrounds. Especially the intro. SO many people use that fade-in effect. Advice for future songs, add more... substance (I'm not saying that every song has to be super busy). However, I listened to it multiple times. That alone is worth a high score. And it made me write a long review.
You're right about the fade-in effect - it's simple and effective, but perhaps a bit generic/overused
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
