Everything I wanted to say gadogry VV already said so I'll just say this completely excellent has a bit of a Beatles feel to it which makes it that much more great seeing how I love the Beatles.. The quality of this song was great and the song itself very professional. Well done hnieuw, excellent work!

Try to listen the songs on your monitors instead of your apple headphones ^^ -> i have the feeling it's missing a lot of low frequency if you do.

‘Above the Basement’ combines interesting classical harmony with a modern indie rock style, all with smooth voice and an incredibly well-polished production. The melancholic mood of small orchestral arrangements, gentle guitar riffs, baroque keyboards, clean vocal harmonies and borrowings from Jon Brion and Brian Wilson makes it easy to visualize film scenes when listening to the tracks. This is not strange when you know an orchestra of talented international musicians has been summoned to record the songs. ‘Above the Basement’ might be compared to listening winter-songs on a hot summer evening, or listening summer songs on a cold winter night. Either way, after listening these songs you are left with this particular emotion of both hope and melancholy.

This is great. Love the melody. Love the atmosphere. Love the falling chord progression. Singing, arrangement, lyrics, that hypnotic outro... nothing I'm not impressed by. So cold yet so good!
A few small things:
-- You actually removed the background harmonics during the last instance of the chorus. I think this is when you can use MORE layers/effects to drive that falling/losing control feeling home.
-- The drum rolls during the outro could continue for just a tiny bit longer. Now it feels like the drums dropped the torch right the moment before they're supposed to pass it on.
-- Obviously, "winds blows" is grammatically wrong, and I really don't understand "it's 6pm I'm but she's I don't know for sure." But they are minor things that don't deduct from the listening experience.
-- While I didn't listen to much Beatles, I didn't think of them until I read these comments. . I think it's good to let your style DEVELOPE itself as you make more music and acquire more about what you like. Trying to FORCE your way out of the shadow of some other people is a good thing, IMO. I'm sure there are a lot of good/popular bands that exhibit some Beatles influence, just like half the NBA would tell you that they patterned their game after Michael Jordan growing up. Just make sure you create what you enjoy!

I want to say that the chorus of the lyrics is pretty much nonsense. Though you are right that even in nonsense lyrics 'wind blows' is grammatically wrong. Your last point is very interesting. I'll keep that in mind :D

Congratulations dude! that's the music we need today, because nowadays commercial music just sucks.
You have a good voice maybe, one day, you could sell your music and become famous (who knows?), but for that, you have to be more "Authentic" , jjust give it a try

Do you know anyone who can play the guitar, but something more like "metal or hard rock"?, i'm in the search for a guitarist to make collabs in the future! meybe we could collab :)

Thx for the useful review! I'm gonna give it a shot to create an 'own' sound in my next work, like u said. I hoped to get rid of the 'beatles taste' with this one :P. I wonder why people still hear the influences..
Well...as for the guitar. You should ask the April MAC winners. The theme was metal, so i guess you can find some talented people over there. The post should still be in the audioforum. Gl ;)
