Hello there Newgrounds. I have brought music for you. I hope that's okay... Because even if it's not, I'm still doing it. I don't need no dag-nabbin' website telling me what I can and can not do.

So this is a no-nonsense metal song that I started working on a while ago as just a test for some new EQ settings on my amplifier. This is the "NG Cut" version since I'll be putting an updated version on my album, but I uploaded it mainly so I could enter it into the March Metal MAC.

It's pretty fast and intense, as was the original plan for this one. I like the way it turned out, although I really wish I had flushed out that middle section riff a little more. But I guess there's always next time. I did spend a lot of extra time in the drums with this one, trying to make it sound more varied and human because I've been becoming self-conscious about how mechanical, robotic and unoriginal a lot of my drumwork stuff sounds. So I tried to make the drums a lot more of a driving factor in this song.

Hopefully you find it heavy enough :3

I'm not really into metal, but this is awesome!

sorry for my bad ensglish (not my first language) but let's get started.
at first sight: awesome drums, they are powerful, great, and fast (the things that i love specially on the drums)
second: pretty good for headbanging :3
third: i can really hear that you put a lot of efford in the song and i love that
love the distortion of the guitar... keeps me hearing the song all over again and again
well....that's all i wanted to say 5/5 and a download ;)

the drum so epic great! love it ;)

Burn7 responds:

Haha hell yeah dude, thanks a lot! :D

You weren't kidding when you said that this is fast and intense. Amazingly brilliant

Burn7 responds:

Hey, thanks dude! I'm glad you enjoyed the speed and intensity that I wrote into it! :3

Good stuff. I can hear you're influenced (tonality wise) by things like At the Gates; and the solo would imply this is the style of music you listen to/are influenced by. The riffs were mostly interesting and again, had that European Death Metal feeling (mostly from the thirds.)

Drums are intense; I assume they're fake :P. If not, props to your drummer; if they are, props to you for writing 'em.

You lose a little for fading out. In our band the last time it came up there was a realization:
When you fade out it's like you went 95% of the way and then went "Meh", ya know? Consider "finishing" songs in the future. Some bands, like Iced Earth, are guilty of this quite often, so it's a minor critique.

Burn7 responds:

Surprisingly, I've never actually listened to At the Gates so I couldn't tell you if their style is similar to my own or not. My influences are mainly Trivium and some heavier stuff like Scar Symmetry or Divine Heresy.

Heh, the fadeout was mostly because this song is going to be on my album, and I wanted to differentiate the Newgrounds version from the album version. So this one has a fadeout, the album one has an actual ending. I agree that a fadeout is kinda cheap, and I don't really like doing them. But... I'm guilty of doing it quite a bit.

Thanks for the awesome review though! And thanks for checking me out! :D
