This is the song that plays on the first race track in my in-dev game project "Super Go-Kart Racers"

All comments and critique are welcome and encouraged.

Update: Length +30s, removed the worble on the main melody during mashup parts, added main worble melody to center of the song.

This one felt rather impressive and I liked the flow of the beat. Sounded like something from a fast paced side scrolling game which was pretty nice as you continue on through a forest shooting lasers at baddies and the such keeping you from finishing a level.

The bass was smooth here and I could hear it keeping a triplet beat pattern for the whole song which was pretty nice. The main synth had a nice and soft pace to it giving the feeling that there will be tough moments but you will be able to complete the level and beat the boss at the end. The drum beat remained simple and at times made the song feel fast paced.

Overall, nice level/race song. Very enjoyable.

When I've completed the new version of this song, I'll post it up for comparison. It will most likely be a bit longer, with a few changes to the drums(add crash and tom drums). But over all It will keep the melody and structure. the main chorus will for sure be staying the same, maybe have a couple tweaks here and there to ad some variant to it. but it'll stay pretty much the same.

Thanks for the review! You guys are awesome! :D

Whoa, I really like this! It really feels like classic 8-bit and would most certainly fit any game involving Go-Karts.

I think the one weak link you have is that worble effect; it's just a bit too much in my opinion.

Not bad, but it needs more "filler".

I think that there is one of two problems here - either there is not enough in the pause gaps of the track, or that there is too much clutter in there as it is. The initial "gallop" into the piece with the bass beat works nicely and then the addition of the higher pitched melody made it more difficult for me to appreciate. That's not to say I fell out with it, but it could have sounded better.

I try not to be too negative, but that third part of the track (beat, melody,???) seems to be where the problems come from, as the two together work well and the third part (let's call it a counter melody for now) just seems to make a mess. Perhaps that is the issue that needs fixing.

Oh, and it seemed like the track was just getting into its swing and you stopped playing it, fading out and stopping altogether. Another minute is needed, at least, I feel.

Thanks! There is, as you've said, allot of work to do on this song. The fade out at the end is actually the looping point of the song in-game, though I'll be making changes to this song for sure. since it's still just a second draft.

Thanks for the review! It's very helpful. :b

Damn good track, consistent rhythm and catchy. Nice 8-bit feel to it. Very good, varied and unique. It will work great for whatever project you plan on using it for.

I'll be putting up a blog about the project pretty soon, so you'll be able to see what it is this song is in.

During the more complex bits, There is too much wobble on the main melody, makes it a confusing listen. The vibrato works great on the less complex parts though!

Sounds good, I'll keep an ear out for you.
