I was composing the first parts of this next to my friend and he was saying that it totally has that Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts) sound. What else is new, huh? In any case, this was a piece that I just finished to get my creative juices flowing by composing to an image. The image depicted a young girl amidst a burning city/village as she is wielding some sort of dark magic with a devilish look on her face.

My personal favourite part is the last bit at 2:07.

Enjoy!

so fun to listen to

reminds me of kingdom hearts 2 alot lol

the beginning can use some work as it gives the impression the song will be boring which it isn't!
the strings sound a bit too midi at some parts........ but over all it's pretty good :D
4/5!

UltimaTricksta responds:

Oh does it really? xD (at the beginning part). Well again, I'm glad you listened to the end. As I said to the user below you, I'm gonna try and work on the violin sound. I'm beginning to think it might be the reverb on it...

Either way, thanks for your feedback!

As a concept I think is good. From the ostinato rhythm to the solid string section it breaths a game feel. It has enough variation not to get boring but it doesn't catch too much attention if you have it in a game.
The only thing that stands out in a bad way is the violin solo, a good solo played with a less realistic sound.
My advice is that if you put a solo on top of virtual instruments, then it should sound really good and realistic.

Good track, perfect for a game project.

UltimaTricksta responds:

Thanks for your feedback, Mihai! I've been working on getting a nice violin sound and the only samples I have are those from Garritan Personal Orchestra (used in this piece) and the ones from Edirol Orchestra. For the first time, I tried changing the velocity of some notes to give it some sense of a human feel. But perhaps, I may need to do something more sonically to get the sound right. Again, thank you for your feedback!
