Scratch & Break My 8Bit

After about 6 years since squashing some samples together with ejay into some reasonably decent tunes, some of which were lost, found and uploaded last year, i've returned with something new courtesy of Ezmuze. This is the first track i made using it and until i transfer the others i thought i may aswell open my new submissions with a bang.

I wanted to make something unique sounding that worked well on its own or in a loop without drastic changes in the middle. I was still figuring out all the little tricks i could use with the new program but despite it being more of a first attempt with new tools i was quite surprised it turned out so well, let us know what you think

ZooL152004 responds:

yeah by all means :D just drop my newgrounds channel in the credits somewhere ;)

Amazing mix, the first song I came across in this category that didn't lose my attention in the first 5 seconds!

ZooL152004 responds:

lol thanks, some of my other tracks do take a while to warm up but this was one i wanted to work in a loop so couldn't start it too tame and out of beat.

Was definitely feeling this man, some really cool stuff going on in this track! Those sounds are reminding me of music that sells! So don't stop! But hell, is this 'Old school'?

ZooL152004 responds:

thanks, i didn't really know which genre to pick from the list really lol picked hip hop mainly on the flavour of the drums and oldschool too because of that, plus the nostalgic retro bleeps and bloops. Perhaps Electro would be more fitting i guess, better than just misc i suppose.

Nice beat!

reminds me of Scott Pilgrim!

Like, Scott at the arcade!

ZooL152004 responds:

I didn't notice that before but yeah, does sound a bit like SP in places lol I kinda imagined it being used in a old sidescrolling game for a cutscene or something but wierdly that wasn't the first thing that came to mind, thanks for the review

crrrazy sounds. and those drums are squashy lovely stuff. I like the style quite a bit. Even the scratches i can tolerate in this. I liek it when the rumbling bass comes in the right places. Loops perfectly. Nice job.

ZooL152004 responds:

thanks for the kind words, watch this space for more tunes incoming.
