Here is a piano/electronic arrangement of the Data Select Screen BGM from the 1993 Sega Genesis video game, Sonic 3.

This is a collaboration between me and John Weeks.

MIDI Sequenced by John Weeks. Piano arrangement by Dr. Mack Foxx.

MIDI modified and used with permission. Please note: I do have written permission to post this from John Weeks.

I reply to all reviews so feel free to leave one. :)

Very Nice!!!!!!! I really do like this... but I do have 1 little teensy-weensy nitpick... I think you should experiment with dynamics... make things really crescsendo and decrecsendo. But nevertheless:

Hmmmm... I suppose so. Granted, my intent with these tunes is to remain very close to the original song. I don't recall such dynamics in the original track. However, there is a fair amount of that in the Game Gear/Master System Sonic 2 tunes that I'm working on now. :)

Thank you for a great review and I'm glad you really liked this song! ^_^

As far as a simple opinion goes, this is excellent. Not perfect, but very, very good.

As far as improving it, I can say the hi-hats could use some work. They're a little loud. Kind of distractingly loud, actually. Not enough to REALLY hurt it, but it's a slight head turner. Loosen the volume on those little cymbals, like the actual song did, and everything should balance rather perfectly.

Hmmmm. I have to agree with your point. The high hats are indeed a bit too loud. Thank you very much for the honest review and I'm glad you still enjoyed this track. :)

This is amazing!!! I actually prefer this version over the original one :D

One of my favourite songs from this game (best sonic game ever vtw) is Ice Cap Zone :D

I'd love to see what you could do with that song :)

Also Flying Battery Zone and from Sonic 1 Marble Zone was an awesome song :D

Just giving some recommendations not sure if you have done it already before I haven't looked through your entire collection yet (I should soon though) :D

Once again I'll say this is awesome though :D

Ah! That's great to hear! ^_^ It's hard enough to create a remake that at least measures up to the awesomeness of of a very well-known song, but to make something that people say is even better than the original definitely makes my day. :) I'm very glad you love this track so much and thank you for the excellent review!

John and I do indeed have a piano/electronic cover of the first act of Ice Cap Zone from Sonic 3. A remake of Act 2 is in the works, too! Great that you are enjoying my and Johns' other tunes as well! Hope you continue to like these tracks as you browse about them. I don't think you will be disappointed. :)
