Great song! It flows very well, and nothing seems out of place. The drums are a little weak, but I can tell you meant for them to be. The synths are chosen well. I can't really find anything bad about this song, so 5 stars!
Keep it up!
Hey, all! Here's my third track from OCR's 'Wily Castle Remix Gauntlet 2011'. This is my third round track (and winner of the round, no less!) - while it's been a blast, I suspect this will be the last round that I'll participate in. Check out the compo here...

For those that won't use the link, here's a quick rundown - everyone participating chooses a 'Robot Master'. The music from that Robot Master's level is to be remixed into every song you write. You are paired off with a Wily Castle track every round, a la free for all. It's a team effort, so each member tag teams which person will remix every week (and I was selected this week - Mega Man 1 Wily 1). I am Magnet Man, and this round's castle was MM1 Wily Stage 1, so you'll hear both prominently in the mix. We each have a week to make the track, and a week more to vote on the tracks.
This week I basically said screw the normal chord progressions and did my own thing (which ends up sounding a little like a synthesized Genesis and Rush combination). There's some chips in there, but for the most part this is pretty much an old school style synth spectacle. You'll love it, I promise ;)
Team Name: Blue Bomber Brotherhood
Track Name: Drag Me Up (to Heaven)

Love me some Magnet Man
This sounds really good. Magnet is probably my favorite MM level song, and i feel like you did it justice here. I think your chords progression makes for a smoother mix, and l like how you kept the melody intact.
-Maybe the slow filter synth at 1:51 isnt the strongest choice to be out front in the mix
-Really like what you did with the fast bit at 2:21, you capture the feel and still keep it smooth
Great Remix! what synths do you use?
I use the Reason 5 DAW, and on that I hand-crafted the Malstrom and Subtractor synths myself. If you want any of them (and have Reason) I could give em' up, though to make them sound like this for the most part there's a whole lot of envelope manipulation.
I might agree with you with the synth at 1:51. I'm sure there's something that I can do with it to make it sound better.
EDIT: I made some adjustment, on your request. That synth is a little thicker than before, especially at that part.
Thanks for the comments :)
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
