Hello for the second to last time this year, NG! This is the twenty-fifth of 26 submissions that I'll upload this year for a project entitled Project 26: Submission Every Other Week. This project is in collaboration with NG user Chocosoda (check him out!) Each other week in 2011, I'll upload a musical piece for a total of 26.

This piece is another I've done before, and one I've wanted to revisit many, many times over the last couple of years. Someone up and made a guitar tab for the original "Ozar Midrashim," and it filled in the melodic blanks I'd drawn after looking at the only LoK: SR MIDI available (which is for "First Kain Battle," a darker remix of "Ozar Midrashim"). We took our two sources and mashed them together with lots of prog-metal influence! This is the result.

For the first time since Project 26 ~ 17, this is the full version of the tune, not a WIP. Quoth NG user DarkPortalStudios: "[Fucking] rad. I recommend craming [sic] these musical delicacies into your pathetic mortal ear pussies."

Total badass

i have heard the original song done by Information Society
and have not heard the second song you mentioned, but i also like this song and its now going on my ipod :D

paradiddlesjosh responds:

If you never played Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver before, I highly recommend it. The Legacy of Kain games are one of my favorite series, and the original Soul Reaver, in particular, is one of my favorite games, period. The second piece in this remix is the BGM to the first battle between Raziel, the game's protagonist (and Kain's former lieutenant), and Kain, the vampire overlord of Nosgoth. It is, for all intents and purposes, an orchestral remix of Ozar Midrashim, but most of the melody is removed and a breakdown follows the haunting chord pattern (as is the case with this remix). Most of the industrial percussion is replaced by taiko drums.

In any case, thanks for your review! :D

Well Done!

This is perhaps your best work in comparison to Sephiroth Rebirth, Much like your work i have enjoyed, this has a deep full sound especially in the drums. The guitar work gets its own credit with the guitar solos. So keep up the great work. Cant wait to hear more from you!

paradiddlesjosh responds:

Thanks for your review, man! And thanks for continuing to use Choco's and my work in your various YouTube series. :D

Badass.

No other words can explain it. Just simply badass.

paradiddlesjosh responds:

I'm just glad it's done. Now I can work on the last one!

Thanks for your review. :D

Quality work here

I have heard neither the original nor the other song you mentioned, but I like their sweet sweet lovechild here. This has some of the best mixing you guys have ever done and I want this song to play every time I have to walk slo-mo like a badass into a shitstorm of hurricane proportions.

paradiddlesjosh responds:

Thanks, Dylan. With any luck, this theme will cause a large energy blade to spiral out from your right shoulder and allow you to beat the ever-loving shit out of those shitstorms. And then steal souls.

Thanks again for your continued feedback. :D
