Now this really is the last version of my track Eelectrostep. I tried to mix elements of electro, house and dubstep music to create a new sound.
I started producing this october so I don't have a lot of experience and every feedback is highly appreciated! :)

My kind of Genre-Mix

I like the smooth electro/ house build up here, and I really enjoyed the side chaining bits as well. The break into Dubstep was pretty interesting, but not exactly what I expected; rather than mixing elements from each genre together though, it sounds like you just went from one to another. Not a bad idea :p

Things to take a second look at:
- The Drums used here do have a proper house pattern, but I would have liked to hear a little bit more from them. Your drum kit sound weak in comparison to most of your sounds.
- The DubWubs are really nice in this song, but I think a bit more variation would have been nice

overall not a bad tune, but I think it could have a bit more GIRTH N***AH GIRTH... lol

Good

Hmm, a well received and laid out piece, the start is better than the end, in my opinion, because I'm just not a fan of the "whum whum" noise that these tracks seem to generate, as if they are an electrical generator on the fritz.

Therefore, the first minute was brilliant and the rest of a the track dragged it down. Yes and no would be my answer, because while it did reflect poorly on the track, it wasn't a complete death-knell for the piece. The light and airy feel to the track stayed in abundance and came back to take over from those sounds which didn't feel like they dominated as much as I had first feared they might.

I'd like to see you do more with creativity on the side of the higher melody, as opposed to the bass / counter that comes along,a s I feel that there is more potential to be extracted from there. In that, I can wish you the best of luck, perhaps in finding new instruments to try out, or some other way to make this track better, without compromising on the overall sound and the genre choice.

Unique

Your first melody, just sounded gorgeous. It didn't seem to go into each variation of it as well as it could have, but at the time same time, it was a very unique pattern.

Both melody patterns, including the drums, sounded great. I loved them!

However, the blending of your two melodies at about 1:56 didn't seem to fit. They didn't really blend together in my opinion.

Also, you could have EQ'ed the drums a bit better, they seem to take over almost the entire song. You also could have probably tried to find some better drums to use in this. The drums you used in this sounded a little more suited for Pop/HipHop/RnB.

With all of that being said, I did enjoy this.

SirSirius responds:

Thanks for this in-depth feedback! You are right about the drums. I am unhappy myself about them. I tried really hard and spend lots of hours trying to fix the drums (I'm still new to producing) but failed quite hard :d

Tried lots of different samples and played a lot with the EQ, but it didn't help :/

Good!

Very nice sound :) I like the synths.

SirSirius responds:

Thanks a lot :)
