one of my best compositions in my opinion, with many dynamic string ideas and synthetic sounds.

inspired by gauntlet dark legacy and mischief makers.

Getting there! needs mastering though

I really like what you've done here composition-wise, but these unmixed sounds are blowing out my eardrums Dx.

I like the choice of instruments here, and the drum pattern isn't too bad at all. I also really like the Dark Gauntlet/ Mischief Makers influence.

Things to take a second look at:
- The BIGGEST thing bugging me here is that crash symbol; that thing is too present in this song.
- mixing and mastering need work hardcore (try individually EQing your channels, THEN EQing the master channel on your mixer as a whole)
- Watch your volume meter bro; try playing music from your media player before writing your song, and THEN write at the same velocity & volume as the professionally mastered song

Overall cool song, but needs some serious work in the area of mastering

wow! thanks for the kind words and i'll remaster it then get your guy's opinions ;D

A little simplistic

I can see that the balance is a little out, with quite a bit of the track "bouncing off the limiter", which gives the end product a bit of static and makes it sound just a little messy. This is particularly the case with the backing track that you use, which is infused with bass, where the problem becomes a lot more noticeable.

Right, the tune itself is a little too simplistic to give any higher marks, I'm afraid. Yes, when you do perform a "solo" section, the balance has already been upset by the chorus and the verses being too similar, thus making the track seem like there is one massive loop running in the background. Even with the tapping of a cymbal, or the addition of various additional instruments in places, you need to work a little harder in making the piece varied, so it seems to fit its own skin.

Playing about with these issues will certainly help, but I'm not sure it will be a cure all. Once you've tried these, you may spot other things that need to be worked on, who knows?

hmm... i like those suggestions, and i'll give them a whirl =)

Needs better mastering

This song sounds good. I like how you constantly add new things to it, that way the listener never grows tired while listening to this track.

I also like the melodies a lot. They have a tendency to become stuck in my ear for the rest of the day.

However, I think the mixing and equalizing isn't that good here. Some melodies are A LOT louder than others. For example from 2:00 to 2:16 the song is very quiet and then all of a sudden the louder melody sets in again.
I also think I can here some clipping from time to time. Especially when the percussions are playing. Especially at 0:43 it sounds very much like clipping.

Horsenwelles responds:

the percs are very compressed in this track, i know... this is a base for a live recording that i mixed quickly and sent out lol.

anyway, thanks for the nice words, and the EQ can be fixed no problem =)

Interesting

This was a very interesting piece here.

I loved how you blended elements together and constantly added new ones. The melodies you use also sounded great to the ear.

However, some of the instruments used in this, such as the Kick-Drum, sounded out-of-place to me. You should try finding a more "realistic" kick-drum to put in place of the one you have here, and maybe EQ its volume up a little higher.

This is really something that I can appreciate and I'd love to hear more!

Horsenwelles responds:

i wasn't too concerned with the realism of the percussion honestly... this was originally a template for a universal contributor project for a live copy of this song, so its technicially incomplete, but i still liked it enough to UL it.

oh, and i agree that i pushed the volume of the kick too low... i usually don't lol

thank you for the nice words =)
