Here's another one of my ideas which I never continued. I was very proud of this when I started it and had some really awesome ideas for it, but I lost inspiration for it and I suddenly dislike how it sounds.
My brother says he prefers the original so that's not such good encouragement for me to ever continue this...
By the way, it uses East/West Symphonic Orchestra Silver for all of the sounds, except the breakbeat which is mostly Vengeance Essential House samples (along with some random free drum samples from this site: http://www.darkbeats.com/
sampleswap/). Despite having the East/West VST for a very long time, this is the first time I ever tried out the ever so badass violin scratching effects that come with the library.
The orchestra part on its own is just as awesome as it was in the original, but the drums, well, I don't know what to say. They just don't have that same impact as the original. I'd suggest using rock kit samples rather than electronic kit ones. Here's a list of what I think you should do:
1. Replace electronic drums with rock drums
2. Continue the song all the way through
3. Extend
4. Add guitar
5. ???? (optional)
6. Profit! (optional)
Yeah I guess the orchestral elements are better than the percussion here. I'm quite proud of the orchestral effects I used throughout the song, but the percussion is pretty iffy, it's true.
I don't know if I'll ever be continuing it, but thanks for the helpful pointers! Hopefully my newer rock song has better drums :P.
At 0:31-0:47, the attack times on those delicious horn/brass instruments are surprisingly high -- kind of wrecks the solid beat that the drums have going. The melody that they play sounds like a scale; a little boring :(
I love the way it starts, though. Great cinematic entrance!
I'M GIVING YOU A 7 HOW DOES IT FEEL MWAHAHA
Seriously though, good job.
:D
Also, let me know when you upload next so I can pay you back for all those NGADM reviews, eh?

Agreed... I think that's as low as the brass sample can go in attack time though.
"The melody that they play sounds like a scale; a little boring :("
Haha yeah I made that melody ages ago when I was making the first version of this. Therefore I can't exactly change it, but I see what you mean :P.

Yeah, I'm quite proud of the intro!
"I'M GIVING YOU A 7 HOW DOES IT FEEL MWAHAHA"
Heartbreaking, man. Absolutely heartbreaking :(.
"Seriously though, good job."
Thanks! Not so proud of this one though, lol.

Aw thanks. You don't have to, though!
Anyway, if you really feel compelled to, then my song A New World is probably one of my best recent ones if you want to review that.
All of your instruments flowed nicely together, but I think there could have been a bigger build up towards your main theme of the song. Then again, it is only a WIP so I am sure you have thought of that. ;)
I'm terrible at reviewing WIPs, because I don't know what the other person has planned for the song. Therefore, I'll end this review now. (I am also in the public library with limited time). Excuses, I know.
By the way, I uploaded a new song incase you are interested.
Lol, thanks! I agree about the buildup thing. I'm proud of it but I do think I could bring it out more without making the song clip. Which is what I find very hard :P.
Yeah I'm pretty bad at reviewing WiP's too, haha. Anyways thanks for reviewing!
