Please keep in mind this was all done in one take because I'm too lazy to do it over.
Honest Dirt is the newest song by my solo project, Modern Gentlemen. I'd love it if you'd have a stop by my facebook page and listen to all the other music recorded through a guitar hero mic as I try to sing as quietly as possible as to not annoy my parents or write run-on sentences: https://www.facebook.com/

With that shameless self promotion out of the way, I'd like to ask a slight pardon for the several off key vocal moments in this song and my first attempt at falsetto. Lesson learned.
Now some background on this song and my solo project. I am a high school student, and I've been writing music for years. Last year, I decided to post several recordings on facebook for my friends to listen to and offer feedback(aka like me more). I've gotten some really positive feedback from them so I decided the next logical step was to get the opinions of the good people here on Newgrounds who are obviously not trolls. If you'd take some time to leave a review, that would be dandy!
Now finally the lyrics (I've always considered myself about 50-50 poet and musician, so if you need any lyrics for compositions, I'd be happy to help!)
All the things we think we need
they are nothing
superficial goods for sacrificial minds
Waste not, want not
Want not, distraught
The valiant ones always die in a fire
The ashes stand tall and fall prey to the wind
As we question the reality of our morality
Are my thoughts meaningless?
Why are we here only to disappear?
There's always a light at the end of the tunnel
Sometimes it's an oncoming train
or a little glass window
where the world can see you forget they ever saw you
There was no one out there until you showed up
Must have been lonely
Alone is a choice
We face it every single day
FALSETTO BREAK
We dance, we sing, for what? for nothing
Well here's something you can't hold in your hands
I call it hope
I'll see you later
When you find out how to use it
When you find out how to use it
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
