Original Song: "Chaoz Fantasy" by ParagonX9
Mix Artist: Shawn (SSJ3-Goku4567)
Length: 2:12 (around there)
Program Used: FL Studio 9 Producers Edition XXL

------------

All credit for the original song and the inspiration goes to ParagonX9. All of this mix was done by ear. No sounds from the original were used - purely sounds from the soundfonts I had at my disposal.

Anyways, since I listened to ParagonX9's "Chaoz Fantasy", I was driven to try to remake it in my own way. Of course, it was a difficult road, but I managed to make this by listening to the original song and piecing together the sounds I thought were in there. However, the bassline I put in there was my little touch. I hope you guys like this, as it was a hard one to make. Though, I know you, and you're going to compare it to the original. Well, of course you are, and of course I would too! I'm not as skilled an artist as she is, but I think my skill is at least good enough to keep the masses happy. Anyways, just give this a listen and tell me how I did.

Again, credit for the original song and the inspiration to put out this mix goes to ParagonX9. If you haven't yet, I recommend you listen to her work, as she is one of the best, if not THE best, artist on Newgrounds thus far.

Very Catchy Tune!

I'm not very good at creating reviews or critique that of Audio Art.
Though, I do have to say that I really love how this opens up and leads to the ending. It reminds me much of an opening to a game or suspenseful anime, if you will.
There wasn't a dull moment at all with this piece and I find myself listening to it over and over again. It's very catchy! Keep up the awesome work!

Shiverwar responds:

If you liked this, you really should check out the original on which this version is based. ParagonX9 does really phenomenal work, so you should check her things out. Thanks for the review!

Groovy.

I love that this piece has a moving rhythm section (even if the notes themselves aren't within each measures). Other bits like the delay on the melody really make it groove.

I haven't heard the original (and shame on me for not!), so I'm going to give that a listen tomorrow. In the meantime, great work here, Shawn. :D

Shiverwar responds:

You really oughta give her original work a listen, Josh, because she is just top-notch. I envy her skill, but I'm also driven to work towards the same level. Thanks for your review, man!

A Great Achievement

I tried to do exactly this myself a while back, but I didn't have the time or resources to do it to my own expectations. This has a very 8-bit, video-game quality to it that I would in no way call a lower standard of technical accomplishment. This is what sets it apart from the original. Although we will try to compare this to ParagonX9, you may have unintentionally created a version worthy of a retro-style game; I could see this in Sonic the Hedgehog, no bother. So don't put yourself down, ParagonX9 made this song hers, but you too made it yours.

Shiverwar responds:

I can't thank you enough for your words. I actually fear what other people may think, but that's just my paranoia setting in. Also, Newgrounds is teeming with trolls, so that's also a thing I watch out for.

Anyways, I guess it is kind of set apart from her original, though I personally don't feel my take lives up to hers. We'll just have to see how it does in the portal before I make a self-judgment. Thank you for your kind words, and the motivation to keep me going. XD Lol
