Project Malu & Kaumaha

*Malu means "Peace"

*Kaumaha means "Sorrow"

This song most certainly has a story behind it, it was specifically written for two separate reasons. (That just makes this piece more mysterious, doesn't it?) I'm considering rewriting it or possibly writing a "part 2" or "sequel" to it.

For now, enjoy

This is my 14th original song, (No loops, delay, or samples were used) Reviews are appreciated.

Skilled in the way of ambience

I love the slow yet driving beat, and beautiful leads used in this song!
The samples with heavy saturation/ delay make this piece sound hollow, and sorrowful; while on the other side of the spectrum I can hear the very soft and Peaceful additions as well.

It seems to me like you accomplished the exact influential mix that you were going for, and you did it well at that

Incredible work my friend!

Thanks a lot man!!! Actually, With all due respect, I didn't use samples and I didn't use delay for this song. Every part of this song was intentionally written out as you hear it. Thank you! I appreciate it!

Nice and strange

Kind of reminds me of older movies where you watched those long intro in the 90's and they were usually accompanied by this music for some strange reason or another strange enough. The tune is very well done though and enjoyable.

The guitar plucks very lightly giving a feel of someone being there yet not being visible to you. The drums have a simple echo rhythm to make you feel like you have a long path ahead and no idea where it could possibly be taking you either. The ambient wind noises give a feel of walking a long and lonely road to a new city and hoping you can start anew there once more. I also like the tone of the piano, very beautiful.

Overall, greatly composed ambient piece.

Thanks. Part of what you said sums up what I was going through with this song.

Illustrates a story through the music.

The bulk of this review could be all the shit I could see this being the soundtrack of. The big one being a samurai, but I digress.

I'm detecting a lot of influence from Enigma/Enya...but only because of how supernaturally calming it is. It's so good at what it does, that I don't even raise an eyebrow that at 3:45, that exciting new tone and tempo was powered down into the initial theme...as enticing as it would be for some Dream Theater-like tanget of a guitar solo to erupt out of nowhere... This song just contains overall wonderful musicianship...this NEEDS more exposure.

Fived and Faved. You're fantastic at what you do.

Rinileki14 responds:

Thank you!!! XD I really appreciate that critique.
