New take on house, more of a old skool disco feel and vibe. Enjoy

Interesting

I'm in love with the combination of house and disco, but I feel there's not too much focus on the disco part of this track, and it's generally not very original.

That said, it's not a bad house track. It's close to something I would download, but there's really not much new in it, the synths are pretty simple and the melody is quite simple and definitely something I've heard before. Sure enough some of the synths had a very disco/daft punk feel over it, like the ones that are playing around the 0.55 mark, I quite like this segment.

Now, the intro I liked, fading in like that just worked out, for some reason. Transitions are pretty good, and I personally think the mastering and production quality of the piece is quite good.

The ending needs some work. It just turns into quite a big mess with a quite sudden ending, and never really has a proper outro.

Interesting vocals.

It really just fades in, which is pretty cool. You don't hear that much. The vocals in the beginning are also quite cool. The break at 0:45 is DEFINITELY good. It sound really well-done and interesting. I definitely liked the little filter that made it sound background at 1:16. What filter is that? After that though, I didn't really like it that much...

Problems:

-I've definitely heard that rhythm on the synth before.
-The drum kit is totally overwhelmed.
-It was disappointing that it went back to the main part at 1:30, I thought some crazy crap was going to come out and take over the track.
-Not a good transition at 2:00.
-The kick is distorting everything from 2:15 onward! It's making a little dip in everything else, I'm betting you intended that, but it really doesn't quite work.
-Ending. Needs. Work. I'm sure you know about this, I don't think I need to say anything more.

Other than the problems that I mentioned, it's pretty good. Just try to EQ a bit more, make sure the kick isn't messing stuff up, and have it be a bit more continuous rather than having different sections that don't quite relate to each other. The first half of the song is the best, personally.

Pretty awesome effort!

I loved the side-chaining and the break away from it at 0:45, and I also really liked the radio filter break @ 1:15!

There were a few little things that could really use improvement here though.

-Your drum kit sounds kinda smooshed, and your bass needs a couple more layers.
-You should definitely go through and individually eq all of your instruments
-check the timing on the sidechaining at 1:00 (Sounds like you have a 3xosc getting chopped way too hard in the backround)

This song could be awesome, just do a little house-keeping around your project file!

DdyCat responds:

Thanks, that break at 0:45 is my fav part too. I will work more on my EQing, but to be honest i hardly know anything about music theory, i just go with what sounds good.

And those weren't my best choice of drums for this song, but i got tired of looking so i just went with those.

Also that 3x osc synth only sounds like that cause it has a gated type effect going on.

Thank you for the review and i will most def work on the things mentioned and clean up my future tracks.

Disco

Well nice to see this is a great remix of a disco song. I remember this tune from Don't Mess with the Zohan actually but never caught the name of the song. Really pleasing remix of it though, sounds great to the ears as well. Good remix.

The synth has a funky feel to it actually and I enjoy that quite a bit so nice work with having that done here I think. The bass line is pretty cool actually and gives a good funky feel. The drums were excellent and provide a great beat I think. Liked the radio filter used later in this piece too.

Overall, cool remix.

DdyCat responds:

Lol, thank you kindly, and i didn't know the zohan had a disco song? I just found a cool guitar synth of z3ta and ran with it.

Thank you for the review.
