Bonus Theme (Lumber Jack)

This is the bonus level theme from our platform game Lumber Jack where I also did most of the coding. It's our first internal project on the German Games Academy in Berlin.

There is not much to say here, I again used acoustic guitars but gave the song a fast and brutal groove to make it fit to the very fast and dramatic bonus levels in our game.

This song is absolutely ear candy!
The beat is great with the guitar!
Also could i bother to ask what program you composed this with?

F4LL0UT responds:

Hi, totally missed this review. Anyway, I used Cubase for the whole thing but different plugins for all the instruments. The guitar is RealGuitar 2, IIRC the brass is from EastWest's Goliath. I have no idea what drums I used, though.

lmao @ juluks4sa

im givin dis a 9 outta 10 cause i like pizza but this is most certainly NOT PIZZA.

But in all seriousness, very good. It's pretty simple, but it get's the job done. Also the acoustic sounds really good, I'm assuming that wasn't the work of fl studio.

F4LL0UT responds:

Thanks. And yeah, it was done on Cubase with several nice VST plugins. I'm sorry though, that it's not pizza. If I had known that you like pizza so much I probably would've spent more time in the kitchen instead of wasting it on this track.

Great track; entertaining and jolly. I really love the combination of the acoustic guitars, the brass and the huge bass sound you have going on here. In this context, especially considering your game is a platformer, it reminds me a bit of the Crash Bandicoot soundtracks, particularly CB 2 and 3. The whistling is a nice touch towards the end.

F4LL0UT responds:

Thanks. I haven't ever played Crash Bandicoot but now I'm curious. I guess I'll check out its soundtrack.

not bad!

this is not bad actually! :) i am giving you a 9/10 because i like dubstep music, but this isn't dubstep, but it has a good beat! :)

F4LL0UT responds:

Uhm, right... thanks.
