Electronic - Techno

Author Comments

One of my most recent projects, Dust Fairy Sky Candy was the last song I recorded before my temporary hiatus in mid-June. This was my first approach to a new style, which features my current style for writing simple songs. This style includes using basic chord formation and progression while using non-conventional techno beats, and using emotionally powerful synthetic melodies. This is accomplished by using a variety of different key signatures, as well as time signatures. This is especially challenging considering techno rarely extends beyond a 4/4 time. Incorporating classical musical styles as well as musical directions such as Coda helps accomplish this as well. All in all, what you hear in this particular song is the transition from my earlier works into what shall come in the future.

Has potential

The title fits that is for sure. The progression is that used most common to radio pop bands and groups so it comes across with a done before sound. The melody structure is cool but the the effect has the presence of being cheap 8-bit sound which takes away its luster. There are undoubtedly better synth effects out there unless it was your intention to sound like an original Nintendo game. Even then there are still better 8-bit effects.
