A birthday gift for a friend, as well as a character opening for my original series of works, Histoires Duchemin.

The city in question is charming and looks very much like Paris with a bit more magical charm to it. When the sun rises, everything comes back to life and the shops open, the people flock to the streets... it is a happy sight.

As for the music proper, I wanted to give it a bit of a Celtic charm, so I took out the usual piano that I would normally use, and threw in a harp instead. I'm aware my samples aren't the best, so feedback is greatly appreciated.

P.S. This is one of my first pieces in 5/4 time.

All music sequenced on FL Studio 9.

Nice music

I like melodical music! I think this music would suit good to dancing too.

Thanks so much! ^_^
Part of the reason why I like Celtic folk influence is that a lot of it is dancelike. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This is something one would hear from Saga Frontier or, as NordicHazard said, Secret of Mana, or Legend of Mana... or or Chrono Chross/Trigger! XD
Very RPG-like and adventurous! Nothing I could criticize, superb work! ;)

I haven't heard Chrono Cross/Trigger music yet except for Radical Dreamers and another BGM, so I might want to check it out soon. I was actually thinking a bit of Suikoden V when I did this.

Very clever

Great 5/4 time! I've tried to make a 3/4 in FL9, but I failed miserably. The song has a wonderful emotion behind it, and I think you captured the image you were going for perfectly. Excellent work!

Thanks, mate! ^_^

As for the 3/4, try to have a structure, or a main theme so that after developing it, you can come back to the main theme. It's a safe strategy for starters and those who know how to do it, and it's been seen to work. Give it a try, and I hope something good will come out of it! ^_^
