Fantastic!

I can just imagine stores closing at night, bright street lights and full bars with people walking by... Absolutely love it!

Very nice!

I like it, sounds like a film score.

But even more than that, it sounds like Morrowin music :P

Not so flawless market stroll.

Good day, gentleman,

this is a quite difficult piece to review. Because there is nothing special happening here, we are sorry not to say too much about it.

Composition:
The string-texture, you present us here, is quite decent. It would have been better if you made them part crossing. Let the Celli play the main melody for example. You could also make the double basses play arco and long base-notes to emphasize important parts of this piece. Overall there is not much happening and not much to discover. But it does not get boring after hearing it several times and we think that you wanted to have it like this way. Maybe it would be also nice if the other strings play pizzicato(-chords) sometimes, to strengthen accents.

Instrumentation:
You have a pretty common instrumentation. Try to use special playing-styles (like con sordini or sul tasto) to get a more sophisticated texture. We also suggest to use some woodwinds to get a counterpart to the strings. You could also double the horn with some strings to get a more prominent melody (of course only if wanted to). Add some accents to the melodies, to achieve a more characteristic sound.

Mixing:
The strings probably have Sus-patches for those short-note passages - keep the attack like it is, but it would be recommendable to increase the attack time of the longer and more expressive notes to make the string passages less choppy. At 0:32 you could give the horn a breathing break. Did you use a propagation delay? If not then we recommend it dearly.

All in all, we think you have achieved what you want us to listen to. A market stroll at closing time. We hope we could help you with the hints. We give it a 6,4/10.

Best regards,

Sir Edward Eisenworth

Well, to each their own. I disagree with your points. Thanks for the review.
