Is this side of the sword blood-stained?

Good evening, gentleman.

It is the first time I hear a 4/4 rhythm in a ¾ measure on Newgrounds.

Composition:
This is a quite good example for some static musical piece without development.
Like already said, the rhythm pattern is good, but you can also make some minor changes while going on with this piece. Maybe you can make some measure changes. You should also alter the way the instruments play. Let the violins play a melody, while the harpsichord plays the rhythms or something else for example.

Instrumentation:

This sounds slightly like baroque music thanks to the instrumentation. But baroque music does not have the repetition you present us here.
The instruments themselves play always in the same range, try to alter it to make it more interesting.
I would also suggest you to use some different styles of playing the violin - pizzicato for example.
Another little flaw is, that the flutes play all along without any pause. I guess this score is made for people with giant lungs.

Mixing:

In my opinion, the mixing is a disaster. Why did you position every instrument on the left side? People with headphones will find this most annoying (and I am a headphone user).
You are missing of stereophony, some reverb and try to simulate the depth of the room with equalizers and different propagation delays for each instrument in the reverb plugin.

All in all, the mixing is the worst problem you have to fight with this one.

Best regards,

Sir Edward Eisenworth

Sweet

Not too dark but compared to The Bright Side of the Sword, this song is a black hole. Though from the sounds behind the music it almost fits to call it The Arabian Side of the Sword. :)

Great and medival-ish!

This song sounds like a medivial game peice (Though youve heard that already :P ) and I am going to use it in a game i'm making!

(If you've never played a Zelda game you might not understand this)
In the part where this music plays, Link is trapped in an underground cave, which Ganon is slowly filling up with water, and you need to find a way out before the water reaches you..

SwordPL responds:

Haha, I'm maybe not hardcore Zelda fan, but I've played some of them. Well, cut it somehow as you like. I look forward for your game.

Thanks very much for opinion. See you, then.

I didnt have to wait much :D

Still 10/10
If the bright side i felt like nothing could stop me, this one felt like...how to put this...

"Its yust like a knight in his last moment in this life, he knows that he cant be saved, but still he has not surrendered "

Its true that the balance in the headphones is a bit odd, but still, the song can make you feel like you are that knight, it dont deserve less than 10

Thanks again for this song, i hope that you will compose some more :3

SwordPL responds:

Hey, to do not spam, I would write you answer to my compositions.
Firstly, I am happy that you like it. You even cannot imagine how happy I am.
Secondly, it is my third composition and I was trying to do it ensemble-like. I failed a little bit, because I forgot about right channel.
Thirdly, LAME Encoder has f**ked up the matter.
Next, I am composing on the same ensemble right now. I have nice theme right now, just workin' on it!
Finally, listen to the rest of my compositions! :)

odd

i agree the balance in this piece is horrible
