ohh SH##. madflex just put cynic in his place!
no really madflex won!
Cynic, the Nimbus reference was brilliant.
Don't mean to hate on Nimbus but that was the perfect response to Verse 2. MaDFLeX's attempt to defend himself by simply restating he is in shape seemed like a missed opportunity that could have been used to attack. Also there was a lot of bragging in Verse 4 that wasn't accompanied enough by belittling Cynic's claims.
Is it fair to give it to Cynic for one line? Maybe not, but oh well. Modeling with Nimbus, hilarious.
Plenty of people are going to read into this the wrong way, and I could really care less. But, in my HONEST opinion (which doesn't count because Cynic beat me last round on votes), MadFlex took this one. Cynic in his first verse seemed composed, then was pissed in his second verse as if what Flex said pissed him off. While Flex stayed composed. The sound quality was better from Flex (though I don't look at that in a battle, it's pointless), and I only say it in agreement with other opinions. Cynic's flow sometimes seemed forced, as did a couple of parts from MadFlex.
They both had a couple of good flips in their responses that stood out more than the rest of the punches thrown, however it sounded to me like MadFlex threw more punches throughout the battle. So that's my opinion, because a "vote" from me on this one wouldn't count anyway.
Good job to both of you for a battle well fought.
Man this is a hard one..
All I can say is this. It depends on what you're focusing on.
If you're focusing on the context of the lyrics, I would say that MadFlex was the victor by a nose. I kinda just took off in his last verse...
If you're focusing on delivery and rhythm(like I tend to do), I'd say that Cynic was the victor.
So take what you will from that :)
Cynic-Clarity of voice and delivery. Internal rhyme scheme was good and flowed well. "Modeling with Nimbus" hahah!
-smoking opium pills? hmmm can you smoke a pill? Maybe "overdosing" would've been more appropiate.
Madflex- Nice work of research. Personal shots. "16 bars without no filler". Had the aggressive tone for a battle.
-the faster flows sounded a lil bit hesitated at a couple spots.
Both MCs brought real musicianship and lyricism to this match. The quality of these bars is outstanding, props to Cynic and MadFLeX. I like Cynic's metaphors/similes and rhymes. I like Madflex's flips, expanded vocabulary and overall delivery. I'd give this battle to MadFLex for v2. The flip on "flash artist" and the grey hound bus exit line got the K.O.
Great battle here.
