If you are getting a high-pitched ringing, it's NG's audio player. Please download the song and listen to it on a media player if you can. Thanks!

When writing this, I was looking into film scoring and tried to set music to a scene from "Me and You and Everyone We Know". In the scene, the main character and a friend are driving down the highway when they notice that the person driving next to them left a goldfish they had bought on the roof of their car. When they realize that these are the fish's last moments of life, they say a eulogy before going lengths to try and save it from falling.

I tried keeping the soundtrack minimal and with a constant pulse to reinforce a sense of motion. Ran into something funny though: when I was trying to get a pulsing sound, I used a jagged volume envelope on a synth (with a limiter so that it wouldn't blow out someone's speakers) and ended up getting a very cool, tapping metronome kind of sound. The problem, though, is that this approach to "pulse" doesn't sound quite the same on any two sets of speakers as far as I know.

So, if you don't have quality speakers, it might not sound as fly. But then again, that applies to basically every song ever. Heh.
