Well I'm back at uni again, busy trying to study in between going out and writing for the paper. I haven't really been thinking about music for a bit, and all my back catalogues on here now so I can't rely on that any more for material!
Anyway, somewhere in the madness I managed to find a few minutes to record a new song. It's perhaps not quite as polished as it could be (expect a 2nd mix appearing soon) but I was trying to see how far spontaneity would get me.
This song is a little different as there are NO SYNTHS! Just bass, drum loops and a simple piano part.

Listen, vote, review (please?)

Nice how you've edited the sound....

Your use of drums is always spot on, I don't know where you get em from.

The reverse notes are soothing, I know this may taint my reputation by talking about modern "taboo" subjects, but I interpreted the name and feel of the song, well, I could imagine it was a girl perhaps "discovering herself" for the first time, if you understand me. You know, people will be like, "but when would that scene ever happen?"

Well, it wouldn't. That's just the image it conjures. And hey, it wasn't as if I was in that kind of mentality either.

It's just a very <sensitive> song. It just wouldn't seem right for that scene where the boy would sit down and have a drink, instead he's have to be thinking about that girl. OK, to expand on my idea, it would have to be love related, but in a scene only containing an individual, either remembering their loved one, or by them self :)

For a completely unrelated scenario, it could be a person nearing the end of their life, looking back, and not regretting a single moment. But I wanted to go for something different!

ANYWAY, disregard all that. The song was perfect for what it is. And it is. Perfect.

I'm all riddles today. Sorry if you were looking for a more practical response.

I'll try on the final piece you gave me to listen to :)
