A Metal cover of the battle theme from Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow. Also, the TV show.

... I think.

Anyway, I had been playing around with this song a while ago (Probably as far back as my Lance song) and was asked by someone to do a cover of this recently for something totally awesome. This inspired me to break out the old music making guitardevice of mine. Unfortunately I rocked far too hard for my old strings to handle, and I exploded them. It's kinda hard to get to recording until I fix this issue. Which is going to suck because I need to get someone to fix the guitar's intonation as well.

So it will be a little bit before I can get recording again. Because of this, I decided to half mix what I had currently and apply a tiny amount of mastering on to the track. So this is what I have so far, and will hopefully get solos and all kinds of shit in here soon to make this the most amazingtastic metal pokemon song on the entire planet.

Retarded made-up words aside, thanks for listening. Tell me what you think! Or not, whatever. Be that way, I'll just have to tell Dad. And last I saw he was drinking again. Just be emotionally prepared for that.

I resubmitted the song to the most current version, which mainly compresses the bassline, and brings the 8-bit channel playing the main melody to the front. I also did some volume changes for the rhythm and leads, and changed the FX on my lead and 8-bit synth to have heavier verb and a small amount of delay.

Burn7 responds:

Damn straight you did. And it's mostly because Pokemon is awesome, but partially because I'm awesome.

Simply... AMAZING.

THIS IS AWESOME. Brought me back to Pokemon land... It's very well done, and is totally badass, awesome and most of all, nostalgic.

Hell yeah, nostalgia always works in my favor :3

Burn7 uses awesome-track, it's super effective

Another well made piece by you burn. Gives me the image though of pokemon having watched too much DBZ though XD

Anyway, the piece is just generally solid however I do have to question just a few bits and pieces. There is a good few parts that feel need a good ironing out or improving as they don't sound just up to it. As the song progresses though it does gain far more smoothed out feel of your standards of awesome. Guess it could be called a show of your progression. Keep it up and get this piece of badassery finished soon.

Burn7 responds:

Yeah, there are a lot of places in here that need some working through. I need to change the EQ on my rhy guitars, as well as some stuff for the bass and 8-bit tracks.

I also think the lead has WAY too much effect, but at the same time I think it sounds awesome so... yeah, this is all extremely WiP-ish. Not only in the Mix and Master but also in the recordings since this is all one-take recording (mostly) so I'll be finishing this up as soon as I get my guitar back from Guitar Center where it's getting intonation done. They are supposed to be finishing it today.

... But then again they were supposed to have finished it last weekend as well. So I'm hopeful but doubtful.
