Canon no.1 in C minor

Author Comments

This is one of my firsts attempts at composing a canon, wich can be quite mentally challenging though the principle remains simple. I went for a simple melody that doesn't stand out too much so that the whole thing blends. This makes it sound like canon from the XIIth or XIIIth century; for those who are familiar to the period, Machaut's polyphonic masses. I also used an aeolian mode wich furthers the medieval feel.

I always appreciate comments, ideas and constructive criticism;
so feel free to do so and I hope you enjoy

sounds like a church

not bad, quiet and peacful.

The-Hobo-Dude responds:

Thanks man...
as I mentioned in the description, it sounds like church because I wrote it in the manner of XIIth century composer (like Machaut or Perotin) who were mainly writing for religious services...

Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed and thanks for reviewing...
