An entry for the Febuary NAC.

Would make a nice background piece.

At times it gets a little repetitive, but it works for the piece in this case. I'm not feeling the spacey and this isn't old school. The bass is a tad bit on the loud side. I like the tempo and instumentation though.

I like to judge a song by what it is. This is perfect for what you want. Though it needs something else. Something to spice it up, just a tad. Add in something that is either low or high, but keep it's volume down, just let it sit there subtly. I like the melody in this peice especially during the intro. I think you accomplished your goal perfectly.

As far as being for a space game, I agree it's not as fitting. However, I'm judging this song by what you intended it to be.

P.S. Good luck in the competition :D

Here's the thing.

Your goal was to make a boring loop for a game that alot of people won't even play.

Do you really want to be known for just making a bunch of boring loops? That's how people will view you if you keep going in this direction.

Make a "Fully featured song" and continue like that. Look at some tutorials, etc...

hollohill responds:

I make a lot of full featured songs, they just often never get to the energy of say, a rave song and seldom of orchestral complexity. I like to keep it simple, I like to keep it modest (for the most part), and at the end of the day, I'm still learning. I'm glad you took the effort to review though, even if it's a low scoring one, it's much better than empty ratings, and for the most part I've found that people who took the time to listen and review seemed to be kinder or more constructive than those who couldn't stand the "genre" and just zero-rate it and leave.

It doesn't go anywhere, it's basically one string of eighth notes that sounds the same all the way throughout with some drums here and there

hollohill responds:

That's sort of the goal, actually. I didn't make this originally as a fully featured track as much as a background track to a game I'm helping make. It's meant to be non-obtrusive, easily loopable without getting annoying. So yeah, it's supposed to be boring. :P
