I've had this track lying around for about year now, it was originally intended for the Haiti album (as you may recall, they had a big earthquake there back then), to help raise some money. Anyway, that album never worked out due to a variety of thing.

Anyway, I figures I might as well submit it, there's no to have all that work just sit on my hard drive for no-one to hear.

I'm not 100% satisfied with the outcome of this; but then again, what artist is ever content with their work? My biggest issue with it is a couple of mixing things that could be better. Perhaps I'll some day go back to the project file and mess with it, then edit the mp3 on here.

About the title: I usually have a hard time finding titles for my music, and this one was no exception. After clicking "random article" on wikipedia for about 100 times, then the same on a random word generator, I decided to just go and see what visions I get in my head when listening to the song, and then look for fitting words from there. And I think Enrichment fits it.

Some technical info (as much as I remember):
Made with FL9, using mostly 3xOsc, VEC samples, and a nice plugin which I forgot the name of, the one that provides the plucked instrument you hear in the last part of the song. (It wasn't FL plucked, lol)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the track as I enjoyed making it back then. I'm actually pretty proud of it, and I think it gives a pretty decent idea of what I can do with FL. Let me hear your thoughts!

Solid laying.

Has a nice and soft feel to it that still makes you have a good feel of getting up and dancing somewhat slowly with people that are actually your own friends. The synth, ambient buildup, pounding drums, and everything just come together and create a wonderful tune for everyone to get up and enjoy as well.

The flow of the song makes me feel like I just entered a dance and was intrigued by the many people but I was soon alone after discovering there was no one I knew there. I head to the bar and get a soda and look around and then head to the center and bust a move getting me a few chicks but I turn them all done because I don't know them.

Overall, a beautiful dance song, excellent work as usual.

Mich responds:

I suppose I can see where you're coming from with the feel you get with the song. It isn't quite the most jumpy dance song around, with its mellowness and all. I can actually imagine it being one of the "slow down" songs at a party, when that party's almost over.

I'm glad you like the track, and thanks for the review. :)

hmm

Nice work in layering the different melodies. I especially like the kick and the overall wavy dynamics

Mich responds:

Thanks!
I find that layering melodies contribute well to transitions; you can fade out one melody and keep the other one playing and such.

Glad you like it. :)

Sweet works man

I like the piano/keyboard layer you have to it. Im not sure if thats what you used, but thats the way it seems to me.
I personally dislike rave music, I find it obnoxious with the electrical beats and stuff, but the piano sounding part blended well with the rave like elements, keeps this a good piece.

Great job dude.

Mich responds:

The piano is actually a harp. :p
I wouldn't really call this "rave music", but anyway, I'm glad you still did enjoy the piece! Thanks for the compliments. :)

Very relaxing

I like the beat to this. It makes the song very relaxing, yet energetic at the same time. Very good execution. Also, the song seems to have a bit of 009 Sound System feel to it. Good Job!

Mich responds:

I suppose that's quite a good combination then? :) I'll have to check out 009 Sound System, because I don't really have any idea what they sound like.

Thanks for the compliments, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

a great piece

it started off amazing, the lulling melody on top of that deep synth, with the crunchy beat behind it, just great. then the buildup was nice but I thought you chould have added something much heavier, but the airy synth made it nice and happy, so overall I thought it was great.

Mich responds:

I have this thing with creating a climax of the song, going once through the melody, and then adding a bunch of other layers to fill it up even more. Perhaps that's why it wasn't as heavy as you would've liked it there. If it wasn't that, it's probably because the melody is quite mellow.

Either way, I'm glad you like the track, thanks for the review!
