This is a song about a viking ice cream truck (109 bpm). It's something I usually don't make because of the lack of synths and the laid-backish tempo, but sometimes I have these ambient days. This began with the music box track, it was supposed to be pure music box too until I threw in some medieval zest into the mix. The snare is on every 3rd beat but I had an 1/2 echo on so it sounds like it's on the 1st beat as well.
Listen for the legato strings, staccato strings, and the flfe section. The mood was inspired by nights where there's snow on the ground and fog in the air, it's something I just saw a couple of days ago but it wowed me nonetheless.
This is also one of the first songs made on a single DAW; in the past my program would export a very compressed and quiet piece where another DAW had to be used in order to amplify it, this is made by skipping the latter step and it hasn't been done since Sunbeam City.
