I pay a metallic homage to the SAW theme tune with generated instruments. LOLOLOL. Why doesn't anyone listen to stuff I submit ;/

Just keep trying

Well ... where should I start ... This is one of the worst tributes to the SAW saga I've ever heard in my life. Don't feel bad, you have a lot to learn yet.
- To start, the sound quality is just bad. It's really terrible, you should really work on that. Recording original instruments is always the best way (provided you have good recording gear) but when that's not possible, then you really have to rely programs, and in this case I suggest you make a quick visit to the work of Burn7. Burn7 also uses programs to simulate drums (per example) and they sound 100 times better.
- You need more content. This lacks rhythm and is pretty much a forward repetition of rifts. Add a bass, make a battery break, add a solo to change the riffs. Anything you can add will make the song richer. Add more instruments, maybe a choir or something.

Now, I know I am a bastard, I criticize hard. But when it comes to criticism, I always try to make it constructive. I suggest you listen to Lashmush themes, specially Hybrid IV, since it also has a SAW theme:

There are plenty of other songs about SAW that you can check out, but unfortunately my memory is not that good.

This said, I hope that my review helps you make a better job next time.
Vote:
3/5 - A solid 3, given the sound quality and the simplicity of your work.
8/10 - I would definitely rate this a 7 or a 6, but truth being said I think I am already being harsh enough on my comments. I don't want you to feel demotivated, but the truth is that you have a long way ahead of you and I can't hide such an obvious truth from away. When I rate musics with 4.30++ I always compare them with artists like ArtificalFear, Lashmush, Xenogenocide and Metaljnous. This piece currently holds a score of 4.45, and I think that's not fair when epic works like Artifical fear's Fight FF7 or Xenogenocide Quantum's Theory have a score of 4.47 (and they are vastly superior).

You asked "Why doesn't anyone listen to stuff I submit ;/" and I gave you a sincere answer. It's up to you how you handle it.

You have a lot to learn but don't quit, because if you keep trying, you'll eventually get there. I mean it. No one is a pro when starting :D

Thanks for the considerate review. I think I've got better with sound since I've made this; I've obtained a cheap recording microphone, but my gear isn't nearly enough yet to get the best sound possible, comparable to the music you've mentioned. I doubt I'll revisit this thing for a long time but as for the structure and rhythms, I basically just mimicked the original saw track. I realize I should make my stuff more interesting. I also appreciate how unfair the score is. You've given me a lot to think about, thank you.

rorychally responds:

Ok, so do you mean like more chugging? like palm muting? I could do that if I were to redo this with real instruments.

I listened

Sounded good needs to be more heavy :D

rorychally responds:

Thank you so much :) I was thinking general metal, not heavy metal. If it were layed down with real guitars I'd imagine it would sound more heavy and badass. I'd keep a note to tune the guitars down a tone if i ever get around to redoing it :)
