Good work!
Good day, gentleman,
We are quite surprised to find something not-repetetive. Quite on the opposite, this piece of music is very much varied. You are using East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra on this one. So let us begin!
Composition:
As said, the variation in this piece is a big plus. Since this is adventurous kind of music, we'd suggest to use a leitmotif throughout the piece, to give it a stronger character. Another flaw, which could be dodged easily is the lack of varied dynamics. You could also increase the loudness of some of the more majestic and hero-ish parts of this piece by adding more instruments. This is still your strongest part of your piece.
For the staccato- and percussion-passages I'd recommend you to use more accents, to give it more "shape" and make this piece more active.
Instrumentation:
You always use a quite small variety of pitch, neither very high nor very low notes - that makes it sound passive and reserved - even at the parts, where I guess it should not sound like that. I'd like to suggest you to use some piccolos, doublebasses or something else to fill in the gaps.
Another point is, that the horns always play those long notes and the melody. They can play nice staccato-passages as well, like the woodwinds could take over some violins for example, to give it even more variation.
You introduce some instruments at the beginning, which never appear, like the clarinets or the contrabassoon for example, again. You can use them very well for doubling other instruments.
Mixing:
The mixing sounds very much like out-of-the-box EWQLSO. We'd suggest to put a reverb (the inbound East West reverb for example) on it - especially the piano needs it, because it sounds totally "out of the place". There is also a propagation delay missing, which is already included in the East West reverb. The loudness of the instruments has some imbalance - the brass for example could have more power.
All in all, this is a quite solid piece of music, you have made. You are talented, more talented than most of the people submitting music on Newgrounds. keep up the good work and we shall meet again.
Best regards,
Sir Edward Eisenworth
