More experimenting, I guess, but this time with a lot more care taken to make something decent in the process.

Over the course of Urakai, Dylan and company wind up flung to the bottom of a lake, where Annel's recently awakened powers keep them intact, but their path forward is across the bottom of Lake Arnia.

Whereas I generally get random song ideas and apply them to the situations needed, this time around I set out to make something befitting that specific situation: you're stuck at the bottom of a lake, and need to move forward to get out. It's a foreign place, light flickering from above and emitting from strange stones scattered about as seaweed and wildlife flutter about.

This stopped me from using the same motifs I tend to hide in a lot of the Urakai/HP music, so while it's a bit brief it's also devoid of me mish-mashing song bits in my head together, instead composed more on the fly to match the situation in my head. I also tried texturing with a synth again and put a pass on the percussion to try and lend to the atmosphere a bit, since that's a department I'm generally lacking in.

Feedback is appreciated. :) Lots of different things I'm trying this time, wanna know how well they've worked out.

Groovy!

It is so hard to write something both simple and good but you've managed it here. Love the composition and the layering. The mix is a little "squashed". I'm getting digital distortion on my speakers, and I don't think you intend it. Ease up on the compression; the song has a soft and introspective mood and doesn't need to be "turned up to 11". Adding to favorites, keep up the great work.

ZaronX responds:

I've a history of winding up with weird distortion when I go for chimey things and then not picking up on it until someone points it out a couple month later. A bit sad I have not defeated that legacy yet, but I shall continue to try! b:

Thanks for the feedback!

Wow

This is a masterpiece of a loop. :P I like how you made the percussion switch it's pan... well done... The strings sound nice, everything in this song fit it's atmosphere... I am actually curious as to why this doesn't have much reviews... The loop is awsome, keep up the good work... 10/10

Very good

It could still use some polish and length, but you nailed the atmosphere here. The song is absolutely perfect for the situation it was designed for. In terms of production, this would benefit from a bit better mixing on some of the later instruments, but overall is a great start.
