"Serenade to a Lapras" is a piece about ice, a song about water, and the mythical Pokemon known as Lapras.

According to Pokemon canon, Lapras is a rare, almost extinct creature. It resembles a Plesiosaur and is said to have a fondness for ferrying people and other Pokemon across bodies of water.

Found only in icy waters in glacial regions, it has not often been seen by humans. Once a year, the Lapras will travel to tropical regions like the 'Orange Archipelago' to raise their young.1

Although all this history is fictitious, the stories about it still resonate strong within me. It is a creature that is on the verge of extinction but, through its resilience, it carries on it's legacy.

This piece tries to capture the resilience of those in danger of failing while at the same time conveying the feeling of traveling from one's home (in an icy region) to a new area full of possibility (the tropics).

...but so monotonous.

This sounds like an icy-mysterious ambience.

And I like the Lapras.
