I love Orion. By far my favourite constellation. I figured it was about time I wrote a song for him, and I was in the mood. Sure, I had to skip any kind of sleep before a nice early Monday at the U, but I think it was worth it.

Chill out, maybe do some homework while you bathe in starlight and the glory that is Orion.

...Also you could send me a donation on Paypal! I promise I will love you forever. =D

Enjoy, and tell your friends.

look at ze starz

today we had an english listening comprehension and it was a documentary about constellations and well, the geometric places of a pyramid group in Egypt look the same as the constellation "orion" haha

About the song:

Mastering: quite nice, but the kick and bass don't blend that well. Have you tried sidechaining the bass with the kick? I think it will give a more pumpy feel. (or did you do it allready? I'm not sure...)

Melodies are nice, as always, no complains.

I don't like the key change, because it always reminds me of the very bad carnaval music from here xd
(the patch of the bass = crome pole? Effect at 2:00 is jonah right? haha :P)

I like it, though! Piano piece is nice, though, maybe add some accents to it. I really like the drum piece but then the transition to the dancey/techno piece doesn't really fit...

9/10/, 5/5

ObsidianSnow responds:

I'm not sure what you mean by "sidechaining the bass with the kick". PM me, I'm interested...

Actually the bass patch was Purring Bass. And yes, the effect was Jonah. :P

Thanks for the review, MWA!

Music to the ears no doubt

I was listening to this while working on this ridiculously long black friday and I gotta say, like the person down below me said, makes you wanna bob your head lol. Love the piano piece =)

ObsidianSnow responds:

Awesome, thanks for the review, p4r4d1s3!

At this point,
I'm sensing that there are things you could do to create better then this.
I think you were testing the waters here, rather then putting something out that was really pushing them. You werent here to create waves, you were here to hear how people would react.
You did justice to Orion, and I'm pretty sure he'd be pretty pleased with this. Overall, not bad. Around 2:24, the bottom line almost seams overpowered by the driving pieces of the beat. It works well, it just seams as if the melodic lines are trying to fight their waves out from underneath everything else. I've also been out of the music genre for a while, so I can offer little critique.
But it was nice to hear something from you again.

ObsidianSnow responds:

Gah, you're right about 2:24, I have no idea how that slipped past me.

I do always appreciate your critiques, Selene. Thanks.

A chill song.

Great to headbob too with a great piano breakdown. Great for listening to in general, good idea on the homework though!
As usual, you rule blah blah blah. :)

ObsidianSnow responds:

Hooray! Thanks, Scelestic.
